"Show the rest person who has it!"

I don't know what in the world you're talking about, CassavetesGreg. ;) I'm sure that photo comes directly from Criterion. They seem to be posting a lot of those similarly-styled photos on their Facebook account these days.

EDIT: Nevermind, after re-reading your poorly structured sentence about 10 times now, I finally understand what you're trying to convey. :)
I would've probably gone for something more like this... "Hey, person who has this set... how about showing us the rest of its contents?"
;)

I should of put a comma on a internet forum post, like this:

Show the rest, person who has it!

But anyways, yeah it looks like one of Criterion's "look at me. I took a pic of a new release behind a back drop that KIND OF has something to do with the film! How artsy of us!".

Stop taking pics and ship it to us already!

Well, at least, we're getting the blu-ray set a couple of weeks before the DVD set. That was a good move, I think.

It was coming in Nov anyways. They prob moved the dvds to Dec because Cronos was the only dvd that month. I just can't wait for it to finally come.

I understood completely. Being an ex-English teacher in the hood allowed me to see much much worse, and I was always expected to understand what I was reading.

CC (not you, but the Criterion Collection) does post these pics on their facebook page, and, to be quite honest, I look forward to them. They have sort of evolved from pictures showcasing a huge shipment box with multiple copies of a released film, to Breathless' release, resting on or near another box w/sunglasses, to now, a stand-alone movie box in a movie-themed setting or something.

I liked the video they did for the von Sternberg silents. They opened them up and showed all of it off. They should do more of those.

I would like to see that done for the BBS box set...instead of this one box tease!

And yes, Jean-Pierre Léaud is in all FOUR films plus the ONE short. :) You get to watch him grow up.

CC

Yeah, what ccfix said. Parts of them are a bit on the corny side, but all in all quite worthwhile.

Yeah, it would be cool. But then again, we only got a couple of weeks before we can do that.

I checked that link and...oh, it's ccfixX...on the second title listed, it says it is the 3rd adventure of the character. What would the 2nd be? Is that the short film they mentioned? Or does that fall somewhere else in the "quadrilogy"?

JediFonger 11-03-2010 05:53 PM

during these B&N sales, boxsets are included as part of the sale right? so i can assume that this BBS BD set will be on sale next summer?

The short is the 2nd adventure. Mid-teens as I recall. The third was late teens, early 20s, probably the latter.

Absolutely. All of the DVD box sets have been on sale during this and previous sales, especially the AK 100.

I don't doubt that kndy...thanks! :D

I've got all the MK2/WB releases on DVD, plus the The Essanay & Mutual shorts that Image released.

If I wasn't spending so much this month, I'd get the Flicker Alley Keystones as well. I'm hoping they will go down in price.

SpiderBaby 11-03-2010 06:55 PM

Speaking of Flicker Alley (kndy would prob know out of all), does anyone have any info as to when Clouzot's Inferno is going to be released and will it finally be Flicker's first blu?

I wish I had more money right now. I still need to get Chicago and the MÉLIÈS releases.

I hate to say it...but I think I'm going to opt to wait on the BBS BD set...until at least Black Friday, ANY decent sale price and/or if I hopefully win that Rhino/Monkees contest. ;) :D

Watching "Underworld" tonight...NetFlix package came this morning! :)

If I'm happy with 2 out of 3 of the silents (no worries), then I will commit.

Having gone Monday Tuesday and today not sure if I might be done but:

Mon.
House
Chungking Express
In the Realm of the Senses

Tues.
Science is Fiction
Monsoon Wedding
Kagemusha

Wed.
Paddle to the Sea
Harakiri
Charade

I've watched and thoroughly enjoyed
Chungking Express-excellent in its execution, interesting characters and always wanting to see what happens next.

House-one of the craziest films I've ever seen. Intriguing. I love the style and visuals but in the beginning it almost takes you out of the movie.

not sure what to watch now.
