Oh Have you forgotten the Dreamcatcher? I would dare you to put In the Air Tonight from Phil Collins and Crank the volume up, I swear you'll be in shock :jawdrop:

I dare you to try them cause they are amazing bud for half the price of the X12 and you could take them in Mahagony, that would pair extremly well with the X16 in Rosewood :D

Hmm,... when I heard the Ikon 2s they sounded brighter then the Ikon 7s, and I wasn't happy with them. The Concepts and Lektors are a little warmer and just as detailed. the Ikons get slightly more expensive then the Lektors because of the Ribbons, but from what I have gathered the Ikons and Lektors use the same soft dome tweeter and drivers.

Ok, so here is the next thing... don't get mad at me. I asked my dealer about surrounds, and he said X12s, I said obviously, but they might be too expensive, so I was thinking the Dreamcatcher of the Lektor 2s. To which he replied, get the Dalis... the Dreamcatcher sucks. Im just the messenger. Then he asked me a few moments later if I have considered the Dyn DM 2/6s as they would be a better compromise any of them.

took the grills off the Dyns and put in Norah Jones... awe sweetness.... loving it right now.

I need to get some Phil... cant go wrong there.

My goodness what kind of dealer is that, is this for real, man I hate to see things like that.

They suck OMG this guy does not have the same ears as me or he does not make enough money on them cause praise are pooring on them, their actual 5.1 dreamcatcher setup won awards. Man seriously.

Not trying to defend a bad speaker here I mean this guy defenately wants to make more money, Markup on the dreamcatcher is apparently not so high but my dealer saves on shipping since he gets them strait from Totem.

I would dare him to do side by sode comapraison with the same material and let you be the judge of that. i have no doubt the Lektors are great but the dreamcacher does not suck at all.

That's the kind of dealer who pushes his own agenda for the sale. Obviously not someone who is interested in helping a potential customer attain their goal. Sadly, there are far too many of those dealers around.

Indeed John, I have nothing against the other suggestions they are great choices indeed but that just does not smell right, I know the Markup on the Dreamcatcher is not so big cause otherwise they would not sell if the prices were higher so I do have a feeling he's pushing towards something that is more profitable to himself.

Steve BTW I"m not mad at you :D i just feel your dealer is not telling you the truth behind this.

come away with me. Rhett burned it for me and sent it to me.

Not a big Diana Krall person. Don't know who the other person is.

The Lektor and Dreamcatcher is the same price. I can audition and buy whatever I want. Which I will. And he knows that. He doesn't dislike Totem all together, he is a Totem dealer and recommends the Sttafs and Hawks quite often, he just doesn't like that speaker apparently. Doesn't mean that I won't audition them and possibly buy them, but when that time comes. We will see. I mean, if I could get Focal 705s at a better price, I would do that too... IMO, they are surrounds, and the best performance at the cheapest price is what I will be going for. I just want something better then the Missions eventually. I have to set the missions to +3.5 dbs to match the Dyns at 0 db gain.

I'm not saying he dislike Totem but I have this gut feeling he actually thinks the dreamcather is a good speaker but wants to make more money on your back.

Anyhow bud Have a great nite, off to bed 20 to 1 here on the east coast. I will look into Norah Jones this week :)

Melody Gardot is a young 25 years old from new Jersey who actually sing jazz she has redone Over the Rainbow to her own personal flavor maybe you can look her up on the net and listen to some samples. Her latest album is My One and Only Thrill.

Was not really into Diana Krall myself but I must say on speakers like ours where vocals are amazing I have to say I am starting to enjoy her more and more.

That is not necessarily true. The Markup on the Excite X12s and X16s is very tight. Im sure Rhett could tell you that also. When I asked about them, he didn't flinch, he didn't push for another speaker. Even in PMs with Rhetts dealer, he told me that demo X12s and X16s don't get a huge discount because of the cost structure. So I don't think he is being shady, I just think that he genuinely doesn't like that particular speaker.

He is the type of person that will tell you what he thinks and what he likes, and what he doesn't like.

This is the same guy that I said is thinking of droping the Totem line all together, why I don't know, I know he likes the Sttaf and Hawk a lot. I don't know about the other speakers, and apparently he doesn't like the dreamcatcher for whatever reason. We all have preferences.

good night bud.

I would grab the X12's if I were you, for the amount of money you'll already have into your system by that point the difference between the Dyn's and the others your considering isn't that big. Surrounds are starting to play a bigger role than they ever have before in modern soundtracks, it would also be way cooler to have Dyn's all around.

This is it this is what I would do too :D

now that's it for me, what ever you do it will sound great anyways that i'm sure.

Andrew I'll make you listen to the Dreamcatcher so you have an understanding of what I say. unless you heard them at Stereo Plus. :D

I think the wife is gearing up for me to want an all dyn setup also, she loves the X16s. The thing that sucks tho, is that i can get them for about $1000 brand new, then add tax, and its up to $1100, so its $100 off basically. I hate California.

OMG, if I had the X12s as surrounds, that would be heavenly. I read a review of the Focus series, the 220s and 140s as surrounds with the center, and the reviewer was like, I don't know if having that much detail in your rear surrounds is a good thing or not

Im not saying they are bad. Anyways, X12s will be the first thing I go for, and if I find them on A'gon for a great deal, i'll do that over getting new anyways.

LOL I'm watching over your shoulder still I'm going to audition some gear with Andrew this weekend and while we're at it I'll make him listen to the dreamcatcher, Does not sound huge but it does sound much bigger than it's size would suggest. Not Efficient at all tho but they can take power.

You did not upset me :lolcry: just your dealer.

Enough said I was supposed to be in bed 20 minutes ago.

I actually agreed with Andrew I think you should do X12 seriously.

Well Yeah but I dunno what Codell holds in stock, If I only knew they had Dynaudio before, i would have gone to see what they had in stock since I was in the area when I audition the X32 at the other dealer. when I looked for Dyn Dealer on the Dynaudio North America it did not return Codell so that's why I went to Audio D'occasion for the X32.

Now I just did another search and I have 2 more dealers in Quebec province and that includes Codell.

Last time I searched they had 4 dealers across the country.
