Look for used book/music shops. (This will make Steve jealous) I have a few used bookstores in the Columbus area (they're all over Ohio though) that carry both used CD and vinyl.

I've flipped through the vinyl a couple of times and have never seen anything more than $10. A ton of it is priced at $3 and the clearance stuff is a quarter each. A wide selection too. Not sure about the condition though.

I'm in Ottawa, Canada. Yes we have the same kinds of store's here but I hate having to wade through all the junk to find something good. I'd rather know what I want and just get it, but who knows I may come around.

Vertigo Records

I know what you mean, sometimes flipping through everything yields nothing of value, but every now and then you find a title that makes it worth it.

actually I have found a used music shop, 2 of them that are somewhat local to me and they have most items between $4.99-9.99 and a few used ones that are up to $20, but that is in their rare/hard to find section. Most new music you can buy on Amazon for about $10-25.... so its not too much different from CDs.

Fleetwood Mac Rumors
Boston Boston
Pat Benetar Live from Earth

I asked her to look for the first 2, and she found them... then she picked up Pat Benetar on her own for herself.

Love the first two. Never heard the last one. May have to check it out. I love hearing about new albums. Maybe if I find a couple that the wife will enjoy, she will change her mind some.

It helped, though, when the kids and I were spinning some vinyl last night. My kids were in awe of the records. My youngest one (7 yo) thought it was the greatest thing that I could flip it over and there was MORE music. You would have thought I just won the lottery or something. He ran up the stairs to my wife yelling "dad flipped the black thing over and there was more music. It's freaking awesome!!! You have to come see this." She didn't because she was working on her lesson plans, but she told me later that she thought it was great that the kids were interested in it and getting exposed to other things than just video games.

All day they kept asking when the football games were over so we could play more records.

I know a few Pat Benetar songs, but I don't know that album either, once I listen to it, I will let you know how it sounds and if its a good enough album to buy. I got my wife into vinyl by suggesting that she buy her own music to listen too. When she went she called me, I suggested those two LPs and then said, get yourself whatever you want too. That is when she came back with the Live From Earth album.

My daughter, the oldest 6, loves when I put on records. When I took out the use Boston album, it was so clean that I didn't even need to clean the record.

I am not to familiar with her, but the wife sure is. You do need to get into vinyl, it has to be one of the better things I have done.

That is really quick to get the center, congrats.

So how's the research for a new receiver going? Or have you been too busy enjoying your TT. A friend's dad pre-ordered an Anthem MRX 300 this week, he's hoping to have it by X-Mas time. I'm looking forward to checking it out, supposedly the first production run of the 500 and 700 are sold out.

I would think those would have been accounted for through dealers, not end users. Hopefully my local Anthem dealer gets some in, I'm looking forward to hearing them.

From what I heard from the local Anthem dealer is that they've been available for pre-order for a while now and they've exceeded the first production run with pre-orders. I don't think that will mean the dealers will not have any demo units though, you would just have to order one and wait instead of just walking out the door with one. I will say that I'm not sure this dealer is always up to date on his facts, he's been a little behind on things before. Anyway that's his story.

WOW, but I am not surprised.

ATM I am kinda leaning towards the Integra, since it really has all that I need, I just need to hear it first to make sure it doesn't sound DARK like I have heard from the Onkyo 606, 707, 807... but the 807 and 3007 both did sound more lively then the others.

My only issue with the Anthems is will they or wont they have HDMI issues, how stable will they be. The other thing is the dealer here is willing to work with me on prices and this will probably be the guy I go to for most things in the future, so it might also behoove me to go there and get my stuff... as long as it sounds satisfying. Otherwise if I really don't like what I hear, then I will go to this other guy near me and get either a Denon or Marantz. I was also considering a Higher End Yamaha, however locally there just aren't any, which would mean ID purchase... and just not sure I want to do that blindly. I have heard the A700 and A800, but I would want to hear the A2000 before buying it, and preferably not at BB.
