Default Elektra: Director's Cut - 5/4/10

Elektra Blu-ray

Elektra Blu-ray Review

I know most people liked this less than Daredevil (which I loved).....anyways it's coming out May 4 which is apparently Marvel video day as the final volume of X-Men: The Animated Series and Iron Man: The Complete Animated Series arrive on the same day, on DVD of course.
....and so says the Meeklo

Umm you could see Elektra in Pure HD allready, Daredevil has been on bluray for quite a while now.

and that movie is a far better showcase of Elektra.

Same here. I never got all the hate, but then again I never kept up with the comics either.

Yeah, this film gets way too much hate. And ironically I think it comes from the comic book fanboys. I swear, it seems that the demographic that kills comic book and sci-fi films in the industry is the fanboys. They are way too critical for their "baby" that they can't simply enjoy what they're given by the industry. Sure, some films totally butcher the source material, but for the most part, and most of the time, they're just good entertaining films.

I mean, look at all the hate Terminator: Salvation got. I mean I was seeing critiques that said, "What's a Terminator film without Terminators?" I'm like "Huh? Did you watch the same film I did?"

This is good news. Taken for what it is, Elektra was a good movie. It doesn't hold up well compared to the comics, but you can't take a character that was such an integral part of other characters' stories and put them in a solo movie and expect it to match up. Doesn't work.

I wonder if there is any chance that both versions of the movie will be on this release?

This film deserved better.. But, really, it should have never been made in the first place.. I knew it would bomb big time at the box office.. Personally I liked it, & the villains which were all different from each other.. Especially that chick with the kiss of death. Damn. She's hot.
