Default "Best Picture" Blu-ray.com Tournament - The Hurt Locker Region Round 2! Come Vote!!

2nd round of The Hurt Locker Region! Same rules apply as the first round and u vote the same way as each film is paired in 2's and only one film will advance for each matchup. Just to be clear for some of those that dont follow march madness here is how it works. This poll will have 8 films but they are in matchups. So for example #1 seed Schindler's List is up against #9 Patton u only vote for 1 of those films to advance. U do that with every 2 films paired up and u choose 1 of each 2 paired because only 1 film from each pair will advance.

This will be opened for 3 days which is plenty of time to get your votes in. The winner of each individual matchup will advance to the Sweet 16. Also this is not a best of or favorites matchup. I would say vote based on the overall take of the film u either feel is better or that u like better or a combination of both! Its up to u of what films to vote for and why. Here we go. Lets get this started!! Got Em!!

Top "9" Blu-Ray Wishlist - A Bronx Tale (1993) - Can't Buy Me Love (1987) - The Five Heartbeats (1991) - The Temptations (1998) - Cooley High (1975) - Friday the 13th (Parts IV-X) - Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) - Phantasm (Franchise) - Accepted (2006)

Schindler's List (if anyone voted against this they're crazy)
Didn't vote for Unforgiven or No Country because I don't think either deserve to be here
Deer Hunter (voting against this is also crazy)
Rocky (very tough because I like both quite a bit, I just enjoy Rocky more)

I don't make monkeys, I just train 'em.
If you're interested, there might be a Donkey Kong kill screen in a couple minutes.

Yeah, and combine that with a pretty popular/recent gangster'ish movie, and it looks like Deer Hunter won't even have a chance this round.

Or maybe people are still mad about Heaven's Gate.

ha...maybe

Departed is a decent film, but nowhere near Scorsese's best and not even in the same discussion with The Deer Hunter in my opinion. The first roulette scene is, imo, the single best acting scene of all-time. It edges out the car scene in On the Waterfront, for me.

I am losing my faith here. Casablanca lost to Rocky and that is a travesty. Rocky a great movie, but Casablanca is one of th greatest movies ever made. Where are the classic movie fans. I fear many people just have not seen it and that is a shame. I weep for a generation.
If I go missing for a time, fear not, I am traveling with The Doctor. The 11th Doctor, Matt Smith.
