Another batch from Alliance is coming out on September 7th, 2010! This batch includes the following titles from them:
-Dog Pound -Heavenly Creatures: Uncut -Nitro Alliance will also FINALLY be playing a little bit of 'catch-up' on some US release that we just never got here. These include: -Gangs of New York: Remastered (Same as the US 2nd release w/ better video) -No Country for Old Men: Special Edition (Same as the extras-filled Miramax disc) They also have another edition of: -Lost In Space: Special Edition (Will be identical to new US disc & not the older CDN disc) Another release that day is coming not from Alliance, but Paradox/E1: -Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale I'm hoping that Gangs of New York & No Country are getting slipcovers, much like the Canadian 2-disc for Sin City. Then again... they did not do a slipcover for the Freddy Vs. Jason re-release. Time will tell!

I'll be getting this disc too, & REALLY hope that it is in fact the Unrated/longer cut, & they don't mess up like they did with the Spawn disc.

Not sure if I'd pick up the new Lost In Space disc. I have yet to see anything horribly wrong with the earlier one (well, minus lack of special features, and the annoying error when Gary Oldman is first introduced)

iirc, I think there was something strange about the framerate, I couldn't get it to play @ 24p correctly. (1080i? 60hz?)

Well I watched the film last night and it is certainly a step up from the DVD. There is some heavy grain in scenes, sometimes the image looks like an upscaled DVD, but overall it looks quite nice with a fine amount of detail.

Sorry I've been away from my computer for a bit. Yes it's 1080i (but don't let that fool you, I never would have guessed it was myself.) The aspect ratio is 1.78:1.

It was 1080i, which would explain why it wouldn't play back at 24p
