Default help me with this home theater project, urgent please

I need help with a small home theater room I am working on:

As you can see on this picture, this closed shelves have a distance of 20cm from the walls and ceiling...

But as you can see in this other picture, there is two rows of dvd shelves above the TV, and there is no picture but on the left wall there is another group of shelves going from bottom to amost top, and that is the problem..

I want to complete the small dvd shelves to the very ceiling, but I can' t do that with the larger wood/glass shelves above the couch..

Do you guys think that would be weird? To make the small shelves reach the ceiling keeping the other part above the couch with this 20cm border from the walls and ceiling?

I think it's a matter of opinion and how much you value symmetry.

Without standing in the room, it's hard to give much feedback. You need to visualize what you are trying to do, and if it's something that would bother you on a day to day basis because the room is not symmetrical, then I wouldn't do it.

If it doesn't bother you and you feel that functionality trumps the need for symmetry, then why not?
