“I don’t even think Robert Rodriguez even expected that reception and now everyone is waiting for Machete 2 so hurry up Robert Rodriguez!” Danny laughed.

With Rodriguez’s slate, not to mention how long it took to get the first [reasonably-cheap] “Machete” off the ground, I think it’s safe to say it could be quite a few years before we see the intestine-swinging vigilante again.

Awesome news! Bring on Machete Kills!

If it's made inexpensive enough like the first it'll hopefully go to theaters like the first one I don't see it by passing theaters, at least not here

The first didn't do that great though, it's hard to make a company promote and distribute your movie if they know it won't make a whole lot of money.

Seeing as "MACHETE" only cost $10.5M to make & grossed a bit over $36M (US: $26.5M, Foreign: $9.5M, + DVD/Blu-Ray sales), it seems like #2 Could do the same.

It made enough I think. I mean honestly, I don't think they could have terribly expected too much out of it considering it was a spin-off of a failing, albeit brilliant, film from a few years before. At least that's how I would have seen it I consider ourselves lucky we even got this movie!

See, it definitely made some cash. I'd be willing to bet 2 would go to theaters

I hope it will make it to the theaters. I can't wait for Machete BD and would love to see Machete Kills, and Machete Kills Again.

Haha I'll take you at your word then Feel free to come back and and rip the movie to shreds when it comes out. But until then, let us enjoy our time not having to argue with you over it

I enjoyed the first one but u kinda have to take it for what it is. The worst thing a "B" movie can do is not realize thats all it is. Machete never takes itself seriously unless u count the thinly veiled political statement.
32" Sharp Aquos LCD, 46" Samsung LN46C670 LCD
Tivo HD DVR, Onkyo TX-SR606, Sony BDP-550, Toshiba HD-A35

FOX, the network so dumb it should be called OX

Machete don't text.

I don't even agree that the political statement is serious to be honest. This was just a fun B movie amd I for one really enjoyed it and am excitedly looking forward to the second

True story, I watched Machete alone in the theaters, and it was glorious! Bring on #2! And please let there be more fake trailers!
My Blu-Ray setup:
37" Vizio
Toshiba BDX2250 (with really bad built-in wi-fi)
... no home theater setup yet :(

I think it's safe to say it'll hit when the second hits theaters. It usually takes two or three years for the director's cuts of Rodriguez's films to hit blu and DVD. Just look at Sin City and Grindhouse.
