It's tax time and I'm in the market for a new HDTV. I was looking at a 50" Panasonic TC-P50S2 Plasma 1080p set for $899 and a 46" Samsung UN46C5000QF LED-LCD 1080p set for $899. I currently have a 50" Vizio 720p Plasma, I know its not the best but I want something that will blow this set away. I don't want to go smaller than a 46",I don't want to spend more tha $900 and I don't want 3D. I have a PS3 to play video games and watch blurays and ATT Uverse HD-DVR box. I am confused on 60HZ, 120HZ, etc.. Out of the 2 sets I mentioned earlier which would yall recommend or are there other sets that are amazing? I apologize if I rambled on and made this post a little confusing.

I have an S2 but in 42" and so far I have enjoyed it. It has some negatives such as floating black level and the rising black level at 2000ish hours, but aside from that the picture quality is great.
Not too familiar with that Samsung model. I have heard good things about this model though: * Samsung PN50C550 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV (Black) $847.99 - Quantity: 1 - In Stock Condition: New Sold by: Amazon.com, LLC I also have heard another decent model is an LG 50PK550 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV. This one is also $897 on Amazon. The samsung I think might have a bug where the black level rises if you use their 24p playback mode to get a smoother picture, and there are alot of customer's that complain with excessive buzzing. The LG I think might be worse with reflections in high light situations. Just going from a 720p to a 1080p should be a pretty good increase in picture quality if you are going to watch blu-ray's on it or other 1080p content (like PS3 or XBOX gaming etc.)
