i don't know much about surround sound systems, but this seems pretty good to me too. i'm actually considering picking one up and i don't even need one. Does anyone know if this reciever is good? or if the speakers are a good brand?

while the yamaha 667 is a nice receiver, I would never pay for an 8" subwoofer.

A few years ago I came across a similar deal from Bestbuy. I couldn't believe they let me dissect the combo. I guess they let me do it, because I added to it.

I asked about adding the F2 towers and instead of the 10" sub, I asked if I could get two 12" subs. They gave me a deal on it all. I did end up not taking the receiver. I then ended up getting a bigger center channel later also.

It's a decent setup for a beginner in home theater. Probably not for most folks on these forums though.
