I'm breaking this off as the game's direction seems to have changed for the better. There's still some oddities like the grain filter in one shot and some of the boarder gear, before seeing a range of courses I'll let the lack of intense colour in this one pass.

How long has it been since we've had an SSX game? I think the last time I played one of these games was 11 years ago on the Playstation 1.

Well, the very first one came out about 10.5 years ago, and it debuted on the PS2. The latest one for Sony systems was On Tour, from 2005.

My previous record on bulldog was like 4.5 million, but after a couple 2-5mil runs, I finally pulled off a gold medal and a 11.9 million run. Don't care about the haters, this game makes me feel good inside.

It was about 7 or 8 mil before the bonus kicked in I think. Just got in the zone and kept super tricky through about last 2/3 of it.
Of course, it doesn't touch those guys with 20 million +, or Batty's 36 million

Ok, so i gave the game more of a chance and i got into it hahaha. i got addicted to it. Old school ssx vet placing 10 million after his first full run (3 restarts) at the end of the night, just shy of 13 million, and i know i can put down a lot more... I had to look past the things i was complaining about and I see how addicting it can be... Glad i gave it another shot..

Played this last night with a couple buddies. These are some of the same friends I played Tricky with back in the day, and living in a fraternity house, that disk LITERALLY was played until it wore out in the PS2. Insane tricks, maximum scores. I remember the first course in Tricky where you turned right almost immediately, hit a rail, and by the time you launched you were in Tricky mode. People invested hundreds of hours into this game because it was a competition amoung friends.
Back to the point, downloaded the demo, the three of us played it for 3 hours, getting 5 to 6 million trick runs (nothing great but was a long road to get even there). Then I headed to bed cause I had to work in the morning, and I still heard them playing it into the night. I loved what I saw, the game has been on preorder since amazon put it up, and I can't wait for Tuesday. SSX has never been a realistic sim. It has always been more about chain scoring, cool characters, and fun times. I just hope we get longboards like in the old days, for different tricks and super fast races. Grinding off the helicopter is awesome as well. Can't wait to try the wing suit. Can always catch me on the slopes. PSN Id: Rothwilder |
