Watched the movie a month ago on dvd. In short: it was just so-so (like the current trend of many movies coming out from China) and you need to be a fan of the tv series. As for me, I speak fluent Mandarin but I had such a hard time understanding the humor for this film (perhaps because I was born in the states). Though I'd like to see the film again with English subtitles if possible.
