Rounders: Blu-ray

Rounders Blu-ray Review

Another long delayed Miramax title Wal-Mart has now listed a date for.

The studio info is influx as they had it listed as "Team Marketing" earlier and now it says Sony. I think it is a Lionsgate release though is it not?

Did Wal-mart get an exclusive deal with Miramax/Lionsgate catalog BDs?
I've read on this site that: Swingers, Good Will Hunting, and now Rounders will all be offered. Don't get me wrong, this is great news as hopefully all these will be upgrades over the Canadian imports.

I don't know about underrated. I really wanted to like this but it left me pretty flat overall.

Still, for ten bucks...

you ever play cards?

I'd say its the most realistic poker movie ever made. yeh-- not much competition-- but still.

It's a well made movie in acting especially. Nobody that I know ever talks about it. Maybe my friends just suck

The poker wasn't the problem. The characters and situations just seemed flat and unconvincing. I didn't feel anything for Edward Norton's character which made Matt Damon's 'dilemma' a complete non-starter.

I wanted to like it. I just didn't.

I agree. I've suggested it to SO many people and they almost always tell me it sounds stupid to watch a movie about poker. But the cast helps sell the deal, I push hard, and they always tell me how much they loved the movie.

had this on order from the DD $5 off sale ... nice to get this one for around $5

I hate "that" company so much now, that something I would normally jump on--a good deal, just doesn't interest me. My last order with them was so bad that one of the orders STILL says open, yet I've received it, and the other was lost. I know even Amazon went to padded envelopes to save money, but the last order I got from DD was like a plastic bag around my movie, with no padding at all. The BD had popped out and that almost never happens like it did with DVDs. Thankfully, the BD was in perfect condition but they went from no charge to 99 cents for media mail, they could at least use a padded envelope too.

With shipping this ends up being only $2 better than Amazon's current price, so I won't bother even trying. $5 difference or more and I might give them another shot, because that movie for around less than $10, especially after that amazing review (and I had been happy with the Alliance release which couldn't have been as good), is just amazing. It's really a steal at $11.

Can't believe Gretchen Mol never had much success. I remember people saying she was the next big thing and I had a huge crush on her after the movie. "Pay the man his money."

LOVE this film!
