Here's hoping this lot of Hammer titles does well so we can see some more in the near future. This and Plague Of The Zombies are possibly my two favourites but I'd really like The Devil Rides Out too. Well, I'd like them all but I'll take what I can get!

Any news on how much effort is being put into restoring these properly?

Great news and I hope the transfer is as good as it can be.

The Hammer film I really want (and I know Im not the only one) is The Devil Rides Out of course...ive held off buying the DVD for what seems like years now!

I understand that the DVD's of this have looked less than stella. It was shot in techniscope, & I've examined the original negatives a few techniscope films, & they're always in pristeen condition. The thing about (two-perf) techniscope is that you can't use it for release prints, so they do a couple of prints to get the grading (timing) right, & then print the anamorphic dupe to make the prints from...& the original negs go back in the tin & stay there. So it's all down to; did they locate the original negs for this release? Me, I'm not that interested, the two Hammer vampire films I'd love on BD are, the 50's Dracula & The Kiss Of The Vampire. Still waiting for an important Hammer film on Blu.

its worth picking up the Hammer Horror Series DVD set from Universal. You get some great films, including Brides of Dracula, very cheaply, and the quality's pretty good as well.

Default When will we get Dracula/Horror of Dracula and Curse of Frankenstein on Blu Ray

I'm really looking forward to seeing the original duo of Dracula and The Curse of Frankenstein appearing on Blu Ray I wonder how long I'll have to wait for that to happen?

That sounds great! Looking forward to it!
Does anyone know whether Rasputin The Mad Monk will be/is already released on blu ray?

Region lock doesn't seem to be a problem for me this time. But then I can have problems with stuff that's from my region, as well. I wish I could just relax with my darling on our love seat and have a nice cuddle, but certain releases just don't want to cooperate and I have to send them back and forth until it works

Honestly, this is one of the worst Blu-rays (if not the worst) I've ever seen. Too much DNR, PQ is just awful.

Some are great. And this is one of the better ones imo.

i used to live by the mausoleum they used for filming the ending of this film. It's quite a sight, on top of the big hill overlooking West Wycombe (where most of Fulci's Black Cat was shot incidentally), and they light it up at night so you can see it from quite a distance away.
I shot some footage there a couple of years ago for a horror documentary. No real reason, but we were passing it, and thought we'd stop off and use it as a background for an interview as it looks so good on camera.

TTDAD is quite and underrated film in my opinion. The lame ending that lets it down always seems to overshadow the pretty decent film that takes place before it.

Except when the discs start to falter.

Luckily, the only one that won't play through on mine just happens to be Paranoiac!
