United Kingdom Glee 3D Concert Movie problem with Samsung player

Hi,

I live in the UK and we've had the 'Glee 3D Concert Movie' available here since Monday(the 5th).

I went out and purchased my copy as soon as the stores opened. However, when I got it home it refused to play. It never even got to the menu screen so I could select what form to play it in(2D or 3D). So I took it back and exchanged it for a second copy only to suffer the same problem as the previous one.

Since then I've gone through a total of four copies(from two different stores) only to encounter the same problem on all of them. In desperation I even did a System Upgrade on my Samsung 6900 only to be presented with the same situation.

So, have 20th Century Fox issued a faulty supply and, if so, what can be done about it? I'm sorely tempted to wait until the 20th and buy the US copy but, who's to say that it won't happen again?

Has anyone else come across this? If so, what did you do about it?

All my other 3D blu ray discs play perfectly well on my 6900(even the second 3D movie I got at the same time as Glee 3D).

Please advise as to what I should do. Would it help the phone the UK branch of 20th Century Fox?

John.

Samsung is usually slow to update firmware so might be in need of an additional update I have the same player but am waiting to find this one used for a good deal so can't test it out for you. Hope you figure it out.

This sounds similar to the issue we're discussing on the TT3D disc in the region coding thread:
http://forum.blu-ray.com/3d-blu-ray-...-releases.html

It is a Region B Samsung, correct?

Yes, it is(purchased from QVC UK when they first came out). Up until now I've had no problems. This is the first one to wimp out on me, damnit!

John.

Edit: I got my 'TT3D: Closer to the Edge' on its day of issue but have had no problems of a similar nature. It would have gone straight back, had there been anything like a hitch. The same for 'Horrid Henry': no problems at all.

I just tried my copy - thought I had the same problem - I'm using the same player.

It does play but takes a long time to load ! Approx 3-5 mins but then plays fine. takes a while to get past the 2 green menu screens telling you to put on your 3d glasses.

Try it again and just wait a bit longer...

I received this today, and have the same player, however it's a christmas present, but I will ask my wife to test it when she comes home from work about 2am.

I will post back tomorrow with the findings.
