I'm skipping the sampler and waiting on season 1, but I am not spending more than $45 for it.

I'd drop about $60, after discounts and all.... but I lived through the $100 set days and will wait till the appropriate time to acquire the BD sets.... I kinda wish the season sets would get the hard shell treatment ala Enterprise dvd sets, but more like the UK TNG DVD Sets...now those were classy!

The art-work for the first season, at simple view, reminds me of the first season, so at leats for me, the designer did a great job, it could be fancyer, nicer bla bla, but it hit the spot with what they are trying to say.
Thx for the update, and I agree, sampler and season one are 2 different threads. Cya Gus

I waited patiently on eBay and picked up all 3 TOS seasons separately but in a pretty good deal: I think I paid 50 for season 1, 55 for two and 40 for season 3... I'd pay around 50 per season for TNG, and from what I can tell am one of the few who WANTS season 1. We'll see how this plays out.

I think it'll be around $60 when the first drop and then go down to about $45 range like the Twilight Zone series.

As great as all the screen shots look for the restoration, I'm not forgetting the fact that this is still season 1 and is still very lame as far as TNG episodes go. As a completionist, I'll get it eventually, but I won't pay more than $30 for it.

Season 1 is still better than Season 2... atleast in my eyes....

$30 bucks? Good luck for that. I doubt it'll ever get that cheap if the starting SRP is around the $100 mark. But like others have said, I can see release date price at about $60-$75. Why so high? Remember the massive restoration/remastering job they're doing on this project. It's not like they're just slapping these episodes on DVD. A lot of work is going into this project, so I'd expect these sets to be quite expensive.

I'll Grab season 1. I picked up S2-3 on DVD because a particular store franchise was facing liquidation. so I got the seasons for $30nzd ($24 USD) which is phenomenal by our standards.
I really liked many episodes here, especially the one with "The Traveler". I loved the visual effects in this one.

I actually liked a great deal of the episodes in Season 2, and I thought Dr. Pulaski was a good character (though I preferred Dr. Crusher, and was glad to see Gates return in Season 3). Here' some of my faves from that season:

Considering the work going into these restorations, it will MSRP at $95 - $100 with retailers actually listing it at $80. And it will stay high for a long time.
Sorry to burst everyone's hopes, but it is a lot of work going into this and Paramount is far too communistic when it comes to their Star Trek franchise... especially this, the most popular of series under the franchise name.
