Default Brother Bear / Brother Bear II (March 12 2012) Review

Brother Bear / Brother Bear II Blu-ray

According to that one article floating around, Brother Bear is one of the titles set for an October 2012 release to Blu-Ray:
http://www.homemediamagazine.com/blu...-release-26706

Out of the newer DACs (post Lion King), this is one of my favourites. Since a bunch of these are being fast-tracked, I wonder what bonus features there will be or if it will just be whatever was included on the DVD. Maybe the sequel will be packaged with it?

Woo Hoo! This is one of my Top Disney movies of all time.

So it's a first day buy for me. Hopefully it'll be a 2-Pack (like Fox/Hound) with the pretty damn good sequel as well.
Bat-Mite: "Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but is certainly no less valid and true to the character's roots then the tortured avenger, crying out for mommy and daddy."

Batman: The Brave & The Bold - Legend of the Dark Mite.

Honestly, that's prolly the main reason I'd buy the blu-ray. If it's not on there, I'm waiting a looooooooooong time to upgrade.

I still haven't seen the sequel, so, if it also gets released, I'm looking forward to watching it.

With all these releases, I'm thinking, Cinderella's and Aladdin's sequels will probably be out next year, since they are the next two Diamond Editions?

It's one of the few Disney sequels that actually is almost if not as good as the original. It's a good one.

Probably. Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't the Beauty and the Beast sequel come out the following year?

Yes it did. It came out the following November just in time for Christmas. Belle's Magical World wasn't even deemed worthy of a Blu release. I can't blame them on that. And yes indeed, Brother Bear 2 was a good one. The songs by Melissa Etheridge as well as the top notch voice cast really sold it. It didn't hurt that the animation was above par for the course.

Well, Belle's Magical World was just the remains of a cancelled Television Series. So there's really no point in giving it a Blu-ray release.

But agreed. I just watched Brother Bear I and II the other day. So I hope we get both on Blu-ray this year.

Got my wish. I love these 2-Packs. Glad to see them do it for more movies. And it comes out the day after my Birthday! Woot!

Wow. Is Disney opening the floodgates this year or what? I do hope that they are quality releases in so much as they can be.

Great movie with a terrific soundtrack. No doubt in my mind it'll be a 2-pack like Pocahontas & The Rescuers. Really hoping for an $8 coupon like those titles.

Is this one still up for an October release? Strange that no cover art has been released yet.

Hope they maintain the aspect ratio switch. I'm sure they will.

This, along with Treasure Planet, I think often get overlooked. Definitely underrated.

I have been wondering the same thing myself. I read the article again and I think because it says "beginning in October" that it could be given a later release. It seems probable that it might be released sometime closer to December. Then again, that's just my own thinking and they could release it in October. I wish they would give us some kind of news soon.
