2012 is the best year for catalogs.
Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

The floodgates are finally opening. This has been one helluva year for popular (and niche) catalog titles.

Finally but I still say 2011 was the best year for catalogs, 2012 is close though.

I've always loved this movie ever since seeing it in the theater. I'll gladly own it on BD!

Yes! Another 80's fantasy classic coming to bluray. I hope they announce the US date soon.

They look a bit dated now in certain scenes. I actually watched my DVD about 6 months ago or so. Story wise the movie is still fun if just short and feeling rush at time. I still enjoy it a lot and I will be getting the Blu-ray

Any word yet as to whether or not this will be a region-free release? If it is and a U.S. disc insn't announced within a couple of months, I may import this one.

USA What took so long!?

Well it is about time! I've been wondering where this movie was since the started re-releasing old movie on Blu-ray. I was worried that maybe there wasn't any good film stock left of it or something. For as long as this took to come they better has completely remastered it and painstakingly cleaned the film. If effect has not been put into this I shall be wroth!

Glad to see the price drop on this one...it will definitely ensure more purchases. This is currently the most anticipated release of 2013 for me, and I'm in high hopes that it'll be a great presentation...actually, considering that there are very few films left in my collection that I'd even upgrade to Blu (if and when they ever got a release), "Willow" may be one of the last truly great catalog titles I buy on the format...looking forward to it, less than a month away now ...

Attention everyone:
If you need to argue about or discuss "Star Wars," please go to the thread(s) designated for that series of films. Thanks!Site review looks strong, as do most of those screenshots . Mountains (and clouds) seem to have disappeared in the background of the first shot (with the credits), Cherlindrea shot looks just plain wrong, but overall it looks very good. Will compare it to my DVD when I get.

I think it tends to be one of those films where age did play a factor in overall enjoyment.

We were 17 and 16 years old. May have even had some 15 year olds in the mix. We didn't hate it, per se, but I think we were ready for another Star Wars and Raiders, and that didn't happen. The acting and the pacing seemed to be the major culprits, as well as lot of genericism in the structure that seemed to borrow a lot from the SW films. I haven't seen it since maybe 1990 or so. I just checked out Dick Tracy the other night, and I remember feeling like it was a failed attempt to mimic Tim Burton's Batman when it came to theaters. Like Willow, I hadn't seen it since, and I was knocked out by it on Blu-Ray. Free of the proximity to Batman and taken on it's own terms, it's a wonderful bit of fluff -- a few more re-writes might have done some good, but it is what it is. It is absolutely gorgeous on Blu-Ray. The art direction is a form of entertainment all its own. As I said, looking forward to renting Willow and seeing it with fresh eyes.
