Default PS3 closing gap on Japanese Wii sales

PS3 closing gap on Japanese Wii sales

The Nintendo Wii is still outselling the PlayStation 3 by 2-to-1 in Japan, although the gap between the rival formats has closed for the fourth consecutive month.

The latest figures released by Enterbrain and reported by Reuters show that Nintendo shifted 110,415 units in the four weeks to October 28, while Sony sold 47,183 PlayStation 3 units.

Microsoft continues to struggle in the region, with sales of the Xbox 360 reaching 18,717 units for the same period.

That's great news! With the progress that the PS3 has made over the last 4-5 months I would be surprised if this trend didn't keep up for quite a long time.

Good news. The fact is PS3 is a future proof machine & no one can ignore it.
And it is a blu-ray player after all!
Let the World feel the Blu!

this is a trend i am seeing:
8 months ago it was: 6 to 1

6 months ago it was: 4 to 1

5 months ago it was: 3 to 1

now 4 months ago to now is: 2 to 1
when final fantasy:xIII comes out look for the playstation 3 to pass the Wii
SAME WITH Final fantasy:xIII v's i think the playstation 3 will be nearing the install base that the Wii has in lead. once that happens the playstation 3 software will sale's just as much as the Wii software sales and we may be looking at a market split in japan between Nintendo and Sony.

With Microsoft getting the lowest market share if this trend continues in the other regions. which i think it will Microsoft may end up with the lowest market share even lower than the first xbox. Sony is counting on the Wii i think to split the market of what ever Microsoft had..Sony and Nintendo are two market dynamics but not so with Sony and Microsoft..Nintendo is more of
a help to the Playstation 3 than a hinderance.people may think otherwise but look at their markets. and you can see how what i am saying could very well play out.

Why are we still getting comparisons of power game consoles vs. regular gaming consoles. The Wii isn't in the same class as PS3 or Xbox as far as power.

Nice spin. Sony should bow its head in shame over the fact that it's only outselling the 360 2.5-1 in Japan.

That's terrible.

Agreed. IMO the Wii is a toy compared to the other 2 consoles.

My brother bought a Wii for my niece a few months ago and she played it all the time at first. Now it's in her room under her bed.

Unfortunately, my Wii is sitting under my bed with the dust bunnys, too. ^^;

PlayStation 3 will eventually get up there. Right now its like skating up-hill on a muddy hill on a Sunny day. It will get there, some day.

this could be happening here too. i was at target the other day and they had 4 Wii's and only 1 PS3. but maybe they were clearing out for the new 40gb.
John,
I help you, How to trick on PS3.
Using Red and White for Analog A/V input cable, Sound Settings>
Skip color Blue, Green, Red component for Video.
Do not use on Video Settings. just HDMI cable
Be Careful,
your receicer setting is audio input for Analog.
And Surround Modes: Stereo
