Well if it makes anyone feel better, I just received notice that there's yet another firmware update for my 3 year old GPS. They've become a fact of life now that everything is processor controlled. I had to update the firmware in my Philips DVD player when it wouldn't play a certain DVD. That was about 5 years ago, but well into DVDs life cycle. The updates should subside.
