I am looking to do the same. Just got a full remote position and upgrading to 1 gig FIOS. Very interesting in this as its more 50% less that I am paying today for DTV.

I'm currently paying nearly $150/month for Directv and am sick of it. I just noticed this has FS SW which essentially doomed DTV. I'm done with them. That's more than $1200 a year in savings.

Am currently test trialing this but my mind is made up. A bit bummed my city doesn't have the local broadcast channels but I just bought an antenna and will get a digital tv tuner. So no biggie. This is awesome. Thanks Sony!

I've been a Vue customer now for a few months and I'm liking it so far.
For the price the channel options are great, I lived in an area that had AMC as part of it's basic package and when I moved it was no longer in that areas basic package. My wife and I don't watch a lot of tv but it's nice to have a DVR to record the shows for later. Things I like are the channel options for the basic package, I like soccer so having FS1 & 2 for the Copa America has been great. No rental fee's for equipment is a huge plus and no contracts.
The picture quality is good, not great with the occasional lag in quality. I have it hard wired and my internet is fairly fast.
My biggest gripe is the operating menu, it's horrible for the most part. My wife had a hard time initially with it, as did I. The basic channels like Fox, CBS and NBC are on-demand only. They also don't have CW or HBO yet.
I did a basic comparison with a few cable providers and I'm saving around $53 a month for the channels I'm getting and DVR.
Sony also just announced that Vue is now available on Roku which is great news in my opinion.
I hope Vue improves over time but right now I would rate it as followed
5 out of 5 for value.
PQ and Audio compared to cable and satellite that I've had in the past
4 out of 5.
Functionality/Menu 2 out of 5

Just signed up today for the middle package as a matter of fact. I'm not crazy about the menu layout and A&E is oddly missing. Otherwise, I like it!

Yeah, the menu layout is the worst thing about it. That and the lag while your trying to scroll through the menu and it that shoots you 4 spots over when you only wanted to move over 2. The other thing to check out is if you get any local channels. If you do it will be all the way to the left past the CBS,NBC,FOX on-demand channels. It will take you a little bit to get the hang of the menu. It's also a little odd when watching something recorded and trying to get out of it and back to your list of shows. You also will find if your watching an on-demand series it will sometimes show the blue line at the bottom that you watched the episode already when you hadn't.

Cut the cord this week and I'm going with PS Vue and a antenna from here on out. There is probably going to be a bunch of bump in the road along the way but the savings will make it worth it.

I like many a few months ago; disconnected the $120 per month DirecTV, and purchased the $50 PS Vue pkg. on my PS3. I love it. Saving $70 per month makes it that much better.
Now it's available on Roku. The menu format is much different. Not better, but different. The good thing is there is no lag.

Just started using Vue for football season. The GUI takes a bit getting used too. It is much more responsive on the PS4 than on my (1st gen) Amazon Fire. The controls with the Fire remote aren't great either but it will do. When you are not at home, you only get a limited selection of channels so sharing this account with mom and dad are not really an option. The picture quality is excellent - superior to Sling. I think the picture quality is just as good if not better then DirectTV. Reliability was an issue with Sling on big events (think any Walking Dead episode). Hadn't really had it long enough to evaluate that for Vue.

I currently live in Missouri. I might be moving to IL soon, the Chicago area. I see they get local channels. How would I switch my location to get the updated listings and locals? Would I just change my zip code? Would my card's billing info need to be the same zip code? What if you have no card on file and just use PSN cards?

I'm pretty sure the PS4 does some sort of geolocation using your IP address. So if you move there you'll get the local programming automatically.

Well, I've had the Vue service for about 5 months now, and just canceled it today. After seeing they didn't come to an agreement with Viacom, and lost all their networks (all MTV channels, all Nickelodeon channels, Logo, Comedy Central, Spike, VH1, TV Land, CMT, all BET and Centric). It's a shame! I believe they added 3 channels in replace of all the ones removed, a sports channel, BBC America and Polaris or something. I ended up calling my local cable company back and resigned up on a bundle package. At least now I will have local channels again instead of horrible OnDemand apps. I may end up canceling my Hulu as well.
