Default Hen's Tooth Discussion Thread

There might already be a dedicated thread to blu-ray releases from Hen's Tooth, but I did a search and could not find one.

Regardless, here is a thread for any discussion regarding current or future releases, with the hope that maybe those from Hen's Tooth could post any updates.

So far, here are all of their releases:

I really wish another company would get the rights to do a proper Blu of "Boys in Company C". I love that movie, but couldn't justify purchasing such a substandard release.

Weird timing for this thread, since they haven't released anything for over a year

Bah! I wish they'd hurry up and put out a blu of The Company of Wolves.

...Assuming they still have it. And if they don't...Who does?

Hen's Tooth released Sam Peckinpah's Cross of Iron on DVD. If they still have the rights, I really wish they'd release it on blu-ray.

Also, Monroville, instead of just posting the blu-ray covers in the OP, you should post the links to each of their blu-ray.com entries so that visitors can check out the reviews and purchase links.

I'll have to check out other posts to see how other posters create links on the blu-ray pics, but I did include the Hen's Tooth blu-ray.com page link right above the blu-ray pics. But I can update the OP to include those thread links too.

I am hoping that they either release JACK AND THE BEANSTALK (1974) on blu in the foreseeable future or at least license it out to someone else:

If you still have the rights to "Gargoyles" how about a Blu release on that movie of the week?

Funny, would have missed the thread altogether, but got "Stalingrad" in last week and just watched it last night and so recognized the Hen's Tooth name. Pretty good film and certainly interesting to see from the German perspective, but lacking a bit in terms of the scope, as compared to "Enemy at the Gates" for example. On the other hand the production was an enormous undertaking and provided a more intimate account of a single infantry unit. No complaints with the release at all, good picture-and-audio quality. One particularly powerful scene near the end showing men who had complained about the intense desert heat of Al Alamein now freezing to death in the white wastelands of central Russia.

The only other film I've seen of the ones listed was "Hell's Angels on Wheels", year's ago on a non-flatscreen television. Awful, awful film~ it evidently aspired to be a 'B-move" but missed the grade by a country mile!

ITV DVD has released a region free blu ray in the UK. The video quality looks good but the audio is only in lossy form.

The Private Eyes went down to $14.95 at Amazon briefly the other day and I snagged it. I'd been waiting on a price drop on this one for a while!

Really bummed that PIPPI does not come with original language option and subtitles. Not worth the "upgrade" IMO.

It would be great if they could release Hawk the Slayer as they did on DVD. There's a region B version available but it's locked.

A rare movie released by a small company and it's only $12. I'm shocked.

I might actually go for this one.

Do they still have Alice, Sweet Alice (1976)? It really deserves a Blu-ray release. It never even got a 16x9 enhanced anamorphic transfer on DVD in the U.S.

I recall reading somewhere that Warner of all places had Alice and were prepping it for their Archive line.

Either way, someone needs to do the world a favor and release that film in HD.
