If they look anything like the Vive l'Amour release, I'll be delighted to double dip with that boxset. Rebels and The River could look so much better than the current DVDs.

I wonder if the Strange Case of Angelica blu-ray is windowboxed on purpose, to avoid overscan. I alternate the picture size on my Samsung plasma, and I notice that by selecting 16:9, the image within the borders almost perfectly fits the entire screen. It's amazing.

Does anyone know the status on Horse Money? It's been in cinemas since July. I tried contacting CG on twitter and got no response. Their website still has it listed as "coming soon" theatrically (along with Jem Cohen's Counting, which I know has started screening as well). About Elly started playing in April and got released the end of August, so I guess it's not super weird nothing has been announced for Horse Money, or their other two releases around that time, it's just strange paired with the months late lack of update on the site.

^^No specific release date has been set. They claim on their official website that it's coming out in the first quarter of 2016. You can pre-order it at a discount price.

Anyone know what is going on with the Horse Money and Counting blu-rays? Thought they were supposed to be release in "Q1 2016."

I usually check up on the site for any new info and ran across some updates. Horse Money shows a May 2016 release now because of the short film resto and Counting shows Q2 2016 release now for whatever reason.

I've had them paid for since November (seperate order, since they immediately charged me) so what's another couple of months to wait. Just don't like how it turned into January/February to May/sometime Q2 2016 for these two.

I received Horse Money in the mail today. It is a little bit darker than the Second Run version, but it looks good.

Overall I'd say the Second Run version is a better package overall, but Cinema Guild have put together a good disc.

Is there any impact from the frame rate difference? (25 fps vs I assume 24 fps for the CG)

C.G have acquired the distribution rights for the new Albert Serra film, The Death of Louis XIV. Hope it gets a blu-ray release!

Sorry for the delay, we had been waiting for the director to work on new HD transfers of the short films included on the disc. It took longer than expected but glad to have it released now.

Picked up AFERIM! and GUY AND MADELINE ON A PARK BENCH in their sale. Figure I can use the latter as a warm up for La La Land.

The Death of Louis XIV looks great on blu-ray. Decent supplements too.

Definitely worth purchasing for fans of Serra, Leaud or films about historical figures that are different from the norm.
