Just wait until the day you move on to B&W...

The 800 series reference set I helped install at my friends house today is absolutely and utterly amazing, very pricey though (~ £16k!)...

I actually showed him our resident surgeon's HT setup and he really loved the look of it, and when we went to the shop and listened to the speakers, well I think we can say he was amazed!

No, they don't. :/

Bose don't make good anything, they haven't for a very, very long time...

I would even rate my piss-poor Sony EX71 cheapies better at high frequency response and bass better than anything I have heard from Bose as of yet.

I think the M word should be added to the censored list.

I know quite a few people who handed over 2 grand and thought they've bought the best equipment around. All I can do is say "sounds nifty" and smile.
Now if they ask me before the purchase I give them the two hour lecture with the Powerpoint slideshow.
Now the real pain begins, Danny-boy.

Personally id just let your friend get whatever he wants. ..
if someone thinks Blose is better than Klipsch let them enjoy their system and let them bask in their own ignorance. At least they are supporting the hobby. I have the same argument with my bro in law on how his 15 yr old technics receiver and blose 301 setup is the shizz... personally I know better but when his buddies come over and drool over his Blose. I finally figured it out to him and a lot of other people owning Blose to them its a status symbol for rich people who know nothing about sound.

Check out the latest issue of CR. They rank Bose headphones behind a pair of Panasonics (I think) that were 1/3 the price. They weren't ranked poorly, they just cost way too much for what you get.
