The only marketing I saw for Colossal was on the late night TV circuit, with a couple appearances by actors. Too bad. I would have loved to have seen it when it mattered, but it never came to a theater within 50 miles of me

When did Drafthouse switch to this type of case/packaging? Which releases have it? It's like Criterion or those Blue Underground 3 disc editions.

3 of the 7 I just bought are like that.
Men & Chicken
Klown Forever
Dangerous Men
Hey, does that movie come with tampons for your !#$%@?

I think it was when they switched distributors (from Cinedigm to MVD).

Anyway, I got my discs in yesterday. I Declare War's going for $70 on Amazon and I got mine for $13.59 new after discount (it was listed as used but the person who sold their copy to Amoeba never opened it).

One thing I'm going to miss about Drafthouse merging with Neon and ending its home video division is the reversible covers. Surprised Neon didn't make a deal with Universal to retroactively make Colossal part of the line much they did with Anchor Bay on Spring.

Personally, I won't be adding Colossal to my collection. I found it a cheap imitation of The Host with bad acting (Villalongo is a good visual director but he cannot direct actors to save his life) and a plot that asks more questions than answers.

I know you probably want to own the blu-ray but I have a code for a digital copy to download from their website, which I've never redeemed.

Actually, come to think of it, I've never redeemed any of the digital codes. I believe I still have the digital slip inserts from:

The Visitor
Ms. 45
Wake in Fright
Why Don't You Play in Hell?
Wrong
A Field in England

Thats if you're interested in just watching a digital copy though.
MOST ANTICIPATED: The Black Cauldron (1985), Crash (1996), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Don't Bother to Knock (1952), Doom Generation (1995), Female Trouble (1974), Freeway (1998), Grandma's Boy (2006), I Heart Huckabees (2004), Hedwig & the Angry Inch (2001), Prom Night II (1987), Irreversable (2002), A Life Less Ordinary (1997), Lost Highway (1997), May (2002), Quills (2000), Return of the Living Dead II (1988), Strange Days (1995), Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995), The Witches (1990)

I did redeem all my codes but i wouldn't mind uploading any of the films to my Dropbox and giving any fine folks here the link...

Went to the website and it looks like there have been no recent releases, right?

I was wondering the same thing, however. Even though my former question I suppose wouldn't necessarily have to do with an upcoming sale.

I got everything I wanted last year, thankfully, because their shipping costs are pretty insane -- ala Kino -- and you pretty much at least have to get a handful to justify it.

Last year's sale didn't include a bunch of their 2016 titles IIRC. Otherwise I would have picked up The Invitation.

Actually I'm pretty sure I got it during the sale last year. Only title that came with a slip....

Website was REALLY wonky last year, but I stuck with it for well over 30 minutes. Wake In Fright was on permanent BO, and I eventually found it on DD's site as a very cheap import.

Prices on the website seem to be $10 for most titles, which were the prices on most last year I believe.

The Invitation was indeed on there last year, but it was out of stock by the time I placed my order, along with some other titles that escape me now.

I think I got 8 or so total. Many were blind buys.

Couldn't pass up a bunch though from a quality label at great prices.

Definitely hope they do it again this year so others can take advantage.

I think they've more or less stopped releasing titles through Drafthouse Films and have instead put their efforts into the AGFA line. I thought there was even an announcement to that effect, but I'm not finding it.

The Drafthouse sale has started. Most of the Blu-rays are on sale now for $10. A few of the combo packs and newer releases are $15.99. Shipping is expensive but still worth it on large orders.

Damn, I was just reminded of how ridiculous the shipping costs are for Drafthouse Films. You have to spend a LOT to justify the $9.50 shipping charge, which is basically already the cost of one blu on the sale by itself!

I also recall that DF has some of the worst shipping practices, to boot.

Didn't someone here have like 10-15 blu-rays shoved into a giant bubble mailer from last year's BF sale?!

I got pretty much everything I was interested in from them a while back... placed one big order for everything, which made the relatively high shipping fee (which is a flat rate, at least) worth it. Got a few posters out of the deal, too.
LG OLED65E6P, Oppo UDP-203 & Denon AVR-X7200WA.
Polk RTiA9 (x2) Front L/R, CSiA6 Center, RTiA5 (x2) Surround L/R, DSW PRO 660 wi Subwoofer
