Considering the UK is getting a slipcased edition, which is 12 pounds cheaper. I would make a guess at two months. At least I hope the US also gets the slipcase edition.

I myself am pretty worried. With tax it's still $50 for one season. I've never paid that much for any television series ever. Yea, the box looks beautiful, but it's December, and I don't know if I can afford it. I might be canceling my order and wait for the slipcased edition. I hope it drops in price again in the next two days, so I can keep my pre-order.
Would love on Blu-ray:
Something Wicked this Way Comes, After Hours, Drugstore Cowboy, Maximum Overdrive, Bringing Out the Dead, The Dead Zone, The Beastmaster, Mr. Rice's Secret, Christiane F.

Is something wrong with the Amazon preorders?

Mine still says "delivery date pending" which normally indicates the release has been delayed?

I'm surprised the DVD is only 1 dollar less than the Blu-Ray. I want to get it for my father for Christmas...but I thought it'd have gone down to less than $40 by now.

That's typically how it works.

Here's a novel idea: pay for it? And no reason it should drop to dirt cheap prices for absolutely no reason at all. Maybe if some people didn't expect everything to be free, media sales wouldn't be in the toilet.

Why would an 8-disc Blu-Ray set of a new television event series be less than $40 on release? I can't believe it dropped below $50.

Wish mine would have shipped a few days ago. Typically the one release from Zoom UK (who tend to send stuff out early) I actually want early hasn't even been dispatched even now - probably won't get it until after release

I'm sure it will be worth the wait though!

How long will I have to wait for an Amaray case version? I'm not buying that cardboard monstrosity.

Well if one isn't forthcoming in North America, there's already one you can pre-order in the UK that comes out a week later. Hopefully Amazon and others list it soon, but I imagine they'll wait until they've sold the higher priced limited edition packaging version first...

I'm not complaining. Rather pay $40 than over $100 like the original series box sets are going for.

Wait, where'd we get confirmation of this? I'm sorely tempted to cancel my preorder on Amazon UK and go for the amaray set if I only have to wait an extra week...

Bet this will be the 100th thing I go to the store to get and it's not there. I don't order online because you have pretty much a 50/50 chance of it arriving damaged. Yet, you also have a 50/50 chance of finding a new release in stores if it's not something that at least 95 percent of the earth's population watches.

The slipcase set is actually up for pre-order at Amazon UK and HMV right now. Expensive, though, and not necessarily what people are anticipating.

I noticed the listing at Zoom on Thursday evening, and as it was slightly ambiguous I dropped Universal an email yesterday afternoon to see if they would clarify a few points.

This is their reply: "Thanks for your query. The slipcase version of Twin Peaks: A Limited Event series contains the same discs and inner packaging (a foldout softpack) as the Limited rigid box version released on the 4th Dec. The Slipcase version is in a slimmer, less elaborate outer package but otherwise has the same contents."

If it'd been an amaray I'd have ordered straight away, but under the circumstances I'm sitting tight for now.

Oh wow, that's a surprise. Totally on the fence now... the smaller packaging is nice, but if it's just cheaper cardboard I'm kinda torn.

(Much like the cardboard probably will be upon arrival.)
