I put a new amp in my sub-woofer, that I got under warranty as the one my sub shipped with was not working properly, I believe a part of it was Burt out because when I opened the sub up it had a strong burning smell.

The sub still worked, but obviously not very well, If I had to guess the part that was damaged was the power supply of the amp.

I would like to know, what settings other people with this sub use, I am a little worried turning this sub up, due to thinking it might damage it.

Right now I have the sub volume at 1 o'clock and the amp at 0.

I am loving this sub now with the settings I have set, its perfect it is night and day compared to how it was working before (it was barely functioning lol)

Has any one had their amp malfunction with in a year or 2 of owning their sub?

I am curious to know how common it is for these amps to burnout on their own so quickly. Maybe I just had bad luck with the amp that shipped with my subwoofer

Hi guys, I have 1 Velodyne DD15+' and an old HGS 15 sub, but I am looking at replacing both of them soon with either 2 SVS PB16's or 2 SB16 ultras, but what concerns me is that I am noticing quite a few of you owners have had amplifier issues, which concerns me. Just how reliable are these subs? They do get great reviews though. I live in Australia and I get a 5 year warranty, but I do not get the 45 day return option.

Do SVS subs have a volume knob my Velodyne had no volume knob and I fried it because I played it to loud.

Yes most of them do have a volume knob. After setting mine up i never mess with the volume knob but every once in a while i might turn the db's up a little in the avr depending on the way the movies lfe is recorded.

Some do and some don't. My SB13's don't have volume knobs, you have to adjust the volume digitally.

Just splurged on something I didn't need.... bought a PB16 Ultra from their outlet. The photo shows a super minor cabinet scratch and it still comes with a 5 year warranty/"Bill of Rights" for $1899. I can live with a scratch and save $600....

I didn't know that they had an outlet...

But man.... you are going to shake your sub-floor "loose" in your loft with that beast.

I was fortunate enough to be @ my Naples Best Buy the day they added one of these to their Magnolia Room and they were only running test tones and some of the stuff that they played was below 40Hz and you could feel it going through your body....

Hello everyone!

Im new to this forum and registered hoping to get some advice (and to get to see pictures of all your awesome setups :P) I have read a lot of comments in the thread and seen that some of you are proud owners of dual sb2000s which is what Im also interested in!

The black friday offers started an itch to upgrade I currently live in an apartment and the size of the sb2000 is really the maximum size I can accommodate at the moment (WAF) and they will be used 50/50 for music and HT. I basically want the hardest hitting and cleanest sounding subs available in that size. The plan is to later buy bigger ported subs like pb13 ultras or maybe the new 4000 series for pure HT and use these subs for music in another room when we eventually buy a house and not feel a need to upgrade them.

I currently have one velodyne spl 800-ultra and my main speakers are B&W 683 s2 and my living room is approximately 1750ft^3.

How much of an upgrade is the svs alternatives compared to my current sub? Having trouble finding data on max spl, distortion etc on the velodyne.

Will dual svs sb2000 be sufficient for music even if the future room will be larger?

Thanks in advance!

Amazing. Thats where I saw the PB16 a month or so ago. When I bought my Denon receiver there a few weeks ago they only had the SB16 and I was underwhelmed.

I just moved from Naples back to Fort Myers in Gateway a month ago or so.

Yeah, they sold the PB16 a while back before I could get my wife in to Demo it....

They did have both there for a couple of days. They actually had the SB16 "Stacked" on top of the PB16 and about 6 Magnolia Guys were playing all their own Demo stuff and were switching between the 2 of them and also running both together.
