I should add that I think the MC set is still worth getting for the non-Toho titles, snce those are all sold separately as MOD DVD-R's, and they're like over $10 a piece. The MC films come from the same masters as the Sony releases, it's just that they're more compressed due to squeezing more movies onto each disc.

I would then get the Sony Icons of Sci-Fi Toho set to pair with it, since that includes the original pressed discs still, including Mothra, which isn't included in this MC set (not sure if you own that title yet)

Four of those films (Fanatic [a.k.a. Die! Die! My Darling], Maniac, The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb and The Gorgon) are all being released in the first of four Hammer box sets by Indicator/Powerhouse in October. I think I'll go with that one instead.

Mill Creek has released 2 of them on Blu-Ray already, and it's okay. If nothing else, at under $10 their BD Hammer double features are a fraction of what Indicator/Powerhouse will charging. I'm sure their presentation will be superior, but I'm not that big a fan of either Gorgon or Curse of the Mummy's Tomb to pay a premium for them.

Wholly Moses! (1980)

In other news, I've noticed that Mill Creek is also handling Screen Media titles now. I would love to see Sherrybaby get a Blu-ray release.
I would like to see Wholly Moses! get a Bd Widescreen release.

Mill Creek is releasing 100 Years of Horror, I see the original release was 5 discs and the new release is only 3. I wonder if the original was just single layer disc and the new one is dual layer or have Mill Creek just compressed the shit out of them? Anyone have any idea?

I was very disappointed by that series, boring and just really out of touch with horror fans with how they covered the material. To answer your question though, it was originally 5 single layer DVD's. My guess is that they'll use dual layer discs and compress the episodes down slightly further to fit on 3 discs.

I've seen it at Walmart. It's several of their DVD collections, together in a box. The two Hammer collections, Classic Horror, Boris Karloff, and Vincent Price. The Price one looks like all PD stuff, but the others are all licenced from Sony. A heck of a deal, if you ask me.

I didn't love Five but I'd be up for a reasonably priced Blu-ray.

Hopefully they will release more of the old Touchstone catalog. So many gems from my childhood like What About Bob, 3 Ninjas, Captain Ron, Ruthless People, Mr. Destiny, etc. Much of the catalog is available on streaming sites like Amazon/Vudu/iTunes and they look pretty decent for the most part.
