Man I hope Best Buy sends out some early copies so we can finally get confirmation regarding DV on the US disc. I'd like to cancel my pre-order asap and pick up a Sony copy if need be.

Honestly I can barely tell the difference between DV and plain HDR10 but emotionally and psychologically I need DV on-disc.

Now we just need to wait until someone with a DV capable system gets their hands on a WB copy. It's like the Westworld release all over again

I thought so, I could see the IVL logo as well as the Cat II rating on the sticker. Is that yours or a pic lifted from one of your facespace groups?

a HK member of the 4k facebook groups posted it. he always gets stuff (USA STUFF normally) 2 weeks early.

im wondering if this is same as USA version as the rear is all english as well. looks like the 4k bestbuy steelbook just without the bestbuy exclusive sticker

I will when I run out of shelf space soon.

Though I'm sure I'll find another drawer to start stuffing 4k's in

HK releases of Western stuff will often have all English text, it's just a legacy from colonial days so I wouldn't read too much into it. The US steel will be the same underneath (most steels usually are, they just come with a different j-card) but the content definitely won't be the same because the US version is being released by Warners, not Sony.

I thought I could go for a 4K + BD + Bonus BD version to save me from getting the UK 2-disc BD as well as the UK 4K and would probably cost as much anyway, but I've just remembered I've got the whiskey glass UK 4K on order as well as the 2-disc BD so I'll just stick to that. I'll swap out the case for a 3-disc one to put the bonus BD in and sell the movie BD on its own.

I really want to get the UK steelbook regardless if the WB version has Dolby Vision or not.

Sony's encodes are the best on this format, and you just know they're going to deliver yet again with this release.

I hate that HMV doesn't ship to the States. Ugh.

I wonder, if there were blind tests, how often people would really notice DV versus HDR10 (or whatever else).
I have seen some spectacular HDR movies, and they don't require DV to do it. I think it's the way it is overseen/incorporated that is more important than the format used to create it.
To be, or not to be. That is the question?

Ooooh, it says three discs in the description and it's a far better steely than that bland grey number.

The Italian steelbook on amazon.it does not list an atmos soundtrack. It only lists an English DTS-HD 7.1 track. Is this just simply inaccurate (the info might be referring to the bluray audio and not the 4K for example) or is this normal for European editions?

Yeah.

I'll likely just order the 4K slipcase from Amazon UK.

I hate Warner. They've done such a terrible job on this format so far when it comes to essential releases. They're not as bad as Lionsgate, but they're approaching that territory.
