For a grin when I was on eBay I was looking to see what some of the OMD's are bringing. Wow - I should have invested in OMD speakers instead of stock!!!

I still cannot imagine a scenario where I would part with my system. I'm looking forward to my next house with a larger theater room; that will really open up the OMD28's.

I don't know, the stock market has been doing pretty good. I do have 5 OMD speakers sitting in their boxes but I'm not going to sell them. I just upgraded my AVR to a Denon X3400H which is 11.2 capable so I could now use my 4 OMD-5's as height speakers. Anybody tried mounting them upside down on the ceiling?

Not tried on ceiling, just upside down on high front wall.

I would think that they would hold ok if you anchored them appropriately.

I don't see why not. I mounted my omnisats on the ceiling. The hardest part was fishing the wires. See my gallery for photos.

I did things just a little different for my OMD5 height speakers. I added height stands to the OMD28 wood/granite isolation base. The pole is 3/4" copper packed solid with play sand. The upper base for the height speakers is made of red oak. On the speakers I added the air filled rubber isolation feet to better decouple the speakers. This assembly is rock solid.

Once complete I ran Audssey calibration and I'm very pleased with the result.

After I move and reassemble the HT I will snake the speaker cables in a black PVC pipe and attach that behind the copper pipe.

What are a pair of M5 (non si) in good condition worth? I have a pair of M3si that I love, looking at a pair of M5 on CL for other rooms.

Never-mind, no longer relevant. Went to buy a pair from CL, didn't have original tweeters....

Hi guys, Crazykat here. I have been on this Mirage forum for a while and though the years my buddies here have helped me build my system. Now i find myself at the age of 70 and ready to down size my system. I have pair of OMD R's to let go and a pair of OMD 28's at a price to a forum member who wants them that you won't find online. (They can be sold separately), one of the 28's has a dented tweeter but i have a new tweeter Assembly that will go with them. I want to offer first to those members in the Colorado area because i really don't want to pack and ship them, especially the 28's.

If you are in the Colorado area and are interested PM me for a price.

How are you doing buddy.

Yes, still enjoying my Mirage and will probably always will be, ( but now I'm cutting down my main system a little.) It's a little hard for me to move things around to give my staging a different look all the time, like I once use to.
the 28's especially are rough for me to handle anymore.

I have a deal on my R's in the works and just working out the details.

Be well My Friend, good to hear from you.

Hi Crazykat! It's been a while since I logged on here also - 4/4/17 to be exact. I didn't realize it had been that long. Thanks for your greeting!

I sold my 28's a while ago and now have Ascend Sierra 2 bookshelves that I like very much. I liked the 28's very much also but they were just too darn large. My wife would always complain about what "monstrosities" they were (not from the shape but just from the size) and I have to say they really were too big for the room although they sounded great. I ended up selling them, along with the C2 center (I think C2; whatever the large one is) and a pair of the 5's for surround to a guy who drove cross country from Kentucky to my place in Southern California and stuffed all of that plus a pair of Emotiva XPA-1 amps into a Honda Accord! On top of that his pregnant wife was with him. Actually they were planning on driving to Las Vegas anyway so he just made a "slight" detour of another 300 miles or so to get the stuff I was selling.

Well, I'm sorry to hear you are selling, but perfectly understandable. I wish you all the best for a quick sale and much enjoyment with your downsized system.

Hey monkuboy how are you. Since April 2017 has been a while for sure.
I'm checking this forum almost everyday but posting here very little , I've had nothing to say.
You may remember that I watched this thread for a year before I posted my very first ever... right here and became part of the Mirage Group.

I'm glad to see new guys ( or new to me ) posting and
Brothers like Henry T ,dr_gallup , dolsey01 along with the previously mentioned guys keepng this thread alive.

So long for now,
CrazyK

I almost came back, there was a pair of OM-7s locally that I was too late to grab. I also know of a pair of M5si but M-Series parts are becoming rarer than unicorns so I think I'm going to hold off. Who knows though, I may someday find the right pair and become a Mirage owner again.
