Default Paradise Alley (1978) - 2018 Koch Release

My copy of this new Koch release just arrived yesterday and would highly recommend it.

Unlike every other Blu-Ray I've seen (at least the Italian and prior German release in the Stallone "Box" disc), this is a legitimate AVC encoded transfer that's clearly been remastered. Lots of detail and fine grain, looks like a whole different film than those DNR-doused discs which look like a standard def upscale.

Source elements still look ragged or aged in places, but what a difference a new transfer can make.

Disc also has some nice extras -- including the TV version which is 11 minutes shorter and apparently has different/alternate scenes.

Easy recommend for Stallone fans

I was wondering about this release, thanks for all the details. Glad to hear it's not the same old crappy transfer.

There are caps-a-holic comparisons.
it looks the same to me with the italian bluray, just a better encode.

Wow that's stunning because that was not my recollection of that disc at all (I don't have it anymore to compare and truthfully that was years ago at this point when I had my plasma). Either way the AVC/MPEG2 difference should have some gains and you get the TV version which is a welcome addition.
