I'm pretty sure today or Monday was the original release date, so maybe miscommunication.

Dropped to a bargain price on amazon UK. This will be the one to get, deluxe book and slipcase.

criterion will be in the usual flimsy case with leaflet/ map rubbish.

So they've finally matched HMV? Like it seems a lot of folk I locked this down at 14.99 postpaid when it briefly went to that price at HMV.com last year but 16.99 is still a very good price for this deluxe edition.

I have an Amazon pre-order in at the 14.99 price too, as they price matched back in November (or maybe December).

Apart from a few crazy jumps at Amazon recently, it's been around the 16.99 mark for a while.

Got to say I'm really looking forward to this set

Saw this at BFI store for a super cheap price of 25. Lol

But yes, packaging looks gorgeous.

Wow, you lucky thing. Must've just been a glitch but paid off. Still, I can't wait 2 more weeks! Just got my replacement Jia Zhangke set and it's mint this time so that will sort me for the time being.

A couple more pics. Not great quality but you'll get the idea. The outer box has a "J-card" (more of a J-piece of paper) which assume will leave the box with no BBFC ratings logo on the front when removed. The back of the J-card details the contents of the set but I don't know what's under the back of the J-card because I'm keeping the cellophane on it (for now at least). The amaray is black and as you'll see in the second image plain inside with a swing tray. Both discs have the same image.

That's exactly how I always keep any blu-ray package (that has slipcase/box such as digipack/steelbook FS/Arrow/Eureka mutli-BD slipbox etc ) as that cellophane gives some kind of protection .

Just love this package! 16+ (incl. of shipping) well spent.

Second Sight probably formally revised the release date due to a manufacturing default, but were then told it would be on schedule (or earlier than expected after the delay had been announced). I think it's trickier to go back on a delay once it has been formally notified so once it's delayed most retailers will stick to that revised date, which is why why most of us don't have this yet.

Sometimes things slip through the net though, hence why Ozu managed to get their copy early because they ordered it so close to the original release date. I seem to remember that has happened with a couple of HMV pre-orders in the past, when they have forgotten to update the listing with the revised release date and shipped things either early or not long after the original release date, whilst others might have to wait 'til the revised date.

Well - Amazon has just changed the listing to 'Currently unavailable' - wonder what is going on?

No emails from Amazon (so far), but the listing change has only just happened. Looks like a bit of a screw up. I'll keep my pre-order active and see what happens.

It's most likely nothing more than Amazon having sold their initial allocation of the release. It happens quite often with limited editions prior to their release date.

Ozu Teapot must just have a guardian angel in the form of an HMV warehouse picker.
