Yes the fixed Season 1 release did have a slip, it was even updated to match the new cover and to set it apart from the original release.

Still bugs me that I never updated my season 1 set so it's the only one without the badge on the spine

Nope, I was just too lazy at the time to bother with the exchange.

I would be far more annoyed by faulty discs than the badge missing on the packaging, guess 4 years is too late to do anything about it though.

I think someone managed to get new discs fairly recently, plus as the fixed discs are out and in circulation it wouldn't be too hard for Paramount to find them!

Didn't know they were willing to do just the discs because when the replacement scheme started they just sent out brand new sets, actually ended up with two replacements due to originally ordering two copies of Season 1 lol

It's unfortunate that its Amazon Prime customers only, but there's still about 49 mins left to get the complete series set for 43.99

If you have never used the trial option before, this would have been a good time to do so.

Nevertheless I ran out of money after grabbing ST TOS and Sopranos together with 3 other boxsets. If all works well I should get a GBP 5 code that I am hoping to use on the TNG series soon.

That Amazon Prime day lightning deal price is, for now at least, the standard selling price. 43.99 or approx 6.28 per season.

At 6.28 a season I don't think you buy anything better.

Couldn't find the separate thread for the Next Generation boxset so hopefully this will be fine.

It has come time for me to pick this up as my Trek viewing marathon has reached this series. I was going to order it from CEX as opposed to picking it up from HMV due to it being a tenner cheaper. I vaguely remember there being an issue with the original release of the boxset. Am I correct in thinking this?

It only affected the initial run of the first season, the collected box set had the corrected version in it.

There has never been anything wrong with the boxset.

Zoom 2 for 20 Star Trek DVDs and Blu-rays - 18 with SIGNUP10

I picked up the Roddenberry set along with the DVD set of The Invaders. Bargains for 9 each. Great offer if you've got holes in your Trek collection (I don't think Season 7 is included).

Great deal, you could get the 3 individual seasons set of the Original Series + Roddenberry Vault for 36.
A few years ago, it would have been that much for one season.

Amazon UK has seasons 2-6 in their '2 for 20' promotion if anyone's still looking to buy these.

52 shipped for five individually packaged seasons (vs. 123 without the promotion) seems like a pretty good deal.

Hey guys, what's the issue with the original release of Season 1?

I bought Seasons 1-4 a few years back now (Seasons 1 and 2 didn't come with slipcovers, 3 and 4 did, grrr). I think I watched all the way through Season 1 but don't remember any problems. Just curious what's wrong and how to identify if I have faulty discs?

EDIT: Ah, just had a skim through the S1 thread, I didn't buy my copy until May 2013 and it has the starfleet logo on the spine, so it's all good.

Just need to wait for Seasons 5-7 to be on offer somewhere now so I can finally complete the set.
