Was gonna buy The Prisoner last night but I don't really understand the amazon currency converter. does it actually matter if i use it or not? I don't know if I will end up paying more if I do or if I don't.

Depends on whether the credit card or payment system you are using charges foreign transaction fees. If it doesn't, don't use Amazon's converter.

And having purchased a few Bluray sets from Japan I do wonder just how much the Japanese set of The Prisoner would be. Very likely way too high for a double dip

Lossless audio is irrelevant whether it's on newer or older material. Yes, more older material is likely to have sonic limitations of the time it was made, but the more you compress it, the more you still lose.

IIRC, the original mono is encoded as Dolby Digital 192kbps which is very lossy and just too low for the sort of quality I expect a Blu-ray to deliver. I've heard original mono encoded at 320kbps and on other releases including DVDs and while still lossy that makes a massive difference, there's just a finer clarity in the brighter sounds I can immediately discern. Lossless of course would ensure you grabbing every last scrap out of the original masters.

I don't think so - the catalogue number matches the standard edition (7958043) and zoom claims it only has 6 discs, while the LE has 12. Looks more along the lines of zoom putting the wrong image up then anything else to be honest.

Though I'd love to be proven wrong if anyone has actually ordered it?
Films that any boutique label should pick up: People Will Talk (1951), Hustler Squad (The Dirty Half-Dozen) (1976), Better Off Dead (1985), Arachnophobia (1990), Loser (2000), Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) and Get Over It (2001).

The 50th Anniversary set that includes the cd's and updated book is only available from Network. The Zoom listing is the standard Bluray reissue which does include the new documentary but omits all of the extras from the previous release

Yeah they confirm that it is no limited edition with all goods >>
"Good Afternoon,

The Prisoner: The Complete Series (Box Set (50th Anniversary Edition)) [Blu-ray] contains all 17 episodes plus bonus features.

Unfortunately it does not come with the book or the original soundtrack.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards,"
