Default Two audio tracks?

Just curious:

The backcover of Prisoners states "English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio/2.0 Stereo.

2.0 Stereo? This wouldn't by any chance be a 2.0 LPCM track, would it? If so, it might even be a 24-bit track. The same label's Blu-ray release of Mr. Weir's The Way Back sports a 16-bit 5.1 DTS-DH MA track, plus an additional 24-bit (no less) 2.0 LPCM track. And the backcover here also only describes it as "/2.0 Stereo"...

Having a 2-channel setup only a 2-ch LPCM track would be wonderful, so to avoid down-conversion.

I'm pretty sure the 2.0 LPCM tracks on eOne releases are just audio description tracks?

They must have incorrectly listed 2.0 on the back, unless they mean 2.0 audio on the extras

Not the one on beforementioned Peter Weir title, The Way Back.

Ended up buying the local Danish Blu-ray release (by Nordisk Film) of Prisoners, and the whole disc actually takes up 37.1 GB, vs. the ~32.5 GB of the US release. Only one extra title on the disc (total time 9:31), and the only audio track found is 24-bit DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.

A/V quality is excellent - I'm hugely satisfied

Thanks for the replies!

Loved this movie and it looked great on BR, lacking on special features though.

So after having a quick read through this thread, the UK release seems to be fine video quality wise? No eOne banding? . Not sure if I should spend the extra for the German over the UK...

The UK disc can be bought from eOne direct for 2.99, (with slip), so the German disc would need to be a vast improvement.

Yeah, I noticed they have a bunch down to 2.99 right now. That's why I'm so tempted, but I generally try to avoid their discs after not being too impressed with a few. I might just give it a go as it's so cheap and I can just sell it on without losing much (if anything) if there are issues. Don't mean to be so picky, but when there are excellent Blu-rays of the same films available, it's frustrating as it always seems to be a bit of a game of luck with the eOne versions. But cheap is cheap, and 2.99 is cheap .

2.99? And I just bought it for 4.99 in an HMV. I could have got a pastry with that 2.00!

I got Prisoners direct from eOne in the last couple of weeks, for 2.99. It came with a slip.

If you order with them through eBay, they knock 15% off 3 or more items. So went for this and 2 others for 2.54 each. Cheeeeeeeeaaaap!

EDIT: Seems to have changed to 10% off 2 or more items now.

I watched this again tonight for about the fourth time I think but the first time on BD. Really surprised by how good the disc looked. We need a UHD. Roger D's work on this one would look even better with the upgrade.
