Watched Slaughter High via Shudder in the early hours of the morning. Didn't care for the ending, but the film was otherwise a lot of fun. The kills were surprisingly inventive and mean-spirited, too.

The rights for Slaughter High in the UK are still with Arrow so it will be interesting too see what they do with it.

Yeah, that was a shockingly good movie. I'd like to see Arrow's take.

Really? I loved the Mind-F ending! But then I've been watching a lot of giallo of late, so getting that ending in an american flick was not what I was expecting.

Speaking of Arrow, I wonder if they plan on doing anything further with John Russo's Midnight. As far as I know Lionsgate controls the rights in the US via their acquisition of the Vidmark library but I'd rather see Arrow tackle this one because they'll do a better job overall. If not, then a Vestron edition would suffice. It's high time the film gets the recognition it deserves.

I held off on the NSM Records release because it had no special features. I know most all Vestron releases have special features and I really want some.
Let us rejoice, and let us sing, and dance, and ring in the new.................Hail Atlantis!

Most Wanted Blu: Man Bites Dog, Silent Night, Deadly Night: Initiation, The Devils, The Dentist 1 and 2, Alligator, Olaf Ittenbach stuff

I do the same, ordering all my Vestron titles through Diabolik. I've always had the slips attached, and they come carefully packaged (and usually a few days early). You can always count on Jesse to get the job done right.

It seems they're only interested in releasing horror so far, but I'd welcome some comedies from them or another company. It'd be nice to have some under the radar stuff like Dream a Little Dream, Little Monsters, Earth Girls are Easy, Big Man on Campus, Recruits, Valet Girls, Paramedics, Computer Beach Party, Dangerous Curves, etc. A few of them are already available in hdx on Vudu.

Earth Girls Are Easy was in the original poll results list that Vestron posted on their FB page, so I guess it's a remote possibility, though TBH I never saw the fit given this quote:

Inverse:
Do you want to just release b-movie horror specifically, or will the Vestron label explore other genres down the road?

Chela:
"We’ve talked a bit about exploring more, but we’re going to keep it in the horror genre realm. That’s not to say we wouldn’t do this kind of treatment to other films in our library. There are other little gems coming up that aren’t necessarily horror. But we want to be protective of the Vestron label and anything released under it should be fitting and appropriate."

Isn't that a fan-created page? Or does Vestron have an official fb page now?

There's still just the one page. I don't know if it's a fan created page or not but the guy that runs it has some affiliation with Lionsgate, even though he self-admittedly knows next to nothing about the line.

Are you certain you didn't watch Slaughter Hotel and not Slaughter High? I only ask cause when I went to search for "slaughter" only Slaughter Hotel came up.

Oh I just noticed you're in the UK. Probably has something to do with why I can't find it.

Almost halfway through Feb with no announcements. I think it's safe to say we wont be getting any until after the Oscars now which will be mid March with Potential releases in April/ May. I seem to remember The Unholy being released in May so maybe LG will do th same again.

I wonder how many titles we'll get before the end of the year? If we got say Beyond Re-Animator, Dagon, 976-Evil II, Sundown: Vampire in Retreat, The Wraith, Dentist I & II double feature and Watchers I & II double feature I'd be very content (I believe most of these have HD masters). 7 more releases this year seems somewhat realistic, but then again, we only got 7 last year.
