Any body else feel the picture looks a bit washed out/overly light in places ? My screen is, for what it is, relatively well calibrated and I rarely if ever have any reason to quibble picture quality, but this looked not right in several places.

Love the film though Bring on Gi Joe 3
Preordered: * Gravity 3D/2D * Saving Mr Banks * Frozen US Release *

Could someone confirm if the following bonus features are on the 2D blu-ray?

I read a UK press release that said the blu-ray had a commentary, but that appears to be incorrect. Does the 2D blu-ray have any additional features not listed here? Any help would be much appreciated.

The True Face of Evil
The Sound of Silence
Brothers Beyond Blood
G.I. Joe: Declassified (BD Only)
Mission Briefing
Two Ninjas
Cobra Strikes
The Lone Soldiers
The Monastery
Fort Sumter
Deleted Scenes (BD Only)
Pakistani President Assassinated
Interns
Arlington

So the UK blu-ray doesn't include the following 3 features or the commentary?

The True Face of Evil
The Sound of Silence
Brothers Beyond Blood

I believe those features are on the Target bonus disc in the US. I don't have the disc in hand to confirm, but I'm 99% sure that's correct.

It's unfortunate they're not included on the UK release. A press release I read at DVD Active said they were, but that same release said the blu-ray also included the commentary.

For anyone who has bought or seen this two-movie set in stores; is the Cobra logo on the back side of the box? Are the movies in individual plastic cases with the same cover art as their UK individual releases or does one case hold both discs?

There's a red Cobra logo on the back of the box. The two cases within are identical to those sold individually.
3800 BDs and counting.

Thank you elvisranger, Sky Captain, and crs for answering all my questions.

I don’t live in the UK and there aren't many details or pictures of these releases readily available online.

There's of course UK rating logos on the front & spine of the slipbox (and on the individual cases), so the picture above isn't entirely accurate. Just thought I'd mention it.

Default Theatrical and Extended cut on same disc?

Earlier posts in this thread indicated that both versions of G.I. Joe: Retaliation (Theatrical and Extended Cut) are not available on the same disc.

However, I found a site which states otherwise. Below is a summary from that site, which also has extensive screen shot comparisons. So my question is - does this dual version disc exist, and if it doesn't, why would such a blatant statement to the contrary have been made? Is there a chance press/reviewers got a disc with both versions?

Quote:
While American audiences will have to be patient to get their hands on the Extended Cut (it is Best Buy-exclusive for the first weeks), British customers have it easier. All Blu-ray editions feature both the theatrical and the Extended Cut.

Comparison between the Theatrical Cut (PG-13 / BBFC 12) and the Extended Cut (Unrated / BBFC 12) (both included on the British Blu-ray by Paramount Home Entertainment).

68 differences, consisting of
39 extended scenes
10 scenes with alternate material
7 additional scenes
6 extended scenes with alternate material
3 repositioning
2 extended scenes in the TC
1 additional scene in the TC

The Extended Cut runs 733.76 or approx. 12 minutes 14 seconds longer than the Theatrical Cut.

Is there any edition worldwide that has both cuts (with the theatrical cut in 3D), and all special features, or at least, the commentary from the US release?

I want to pick up this film, since I missed it theatrically (and I thought the 1st one was surprisingly entertaining), but this crap with a cut available on one edition and not the other, separate 2D/3D releases, and exclusive retailer content, makes the act of simply purchasing a film a rather complicated affair.
