So I'm getting ready to sheetrock the theater room, finally!

I'm doing two layers of sheetrock with green glue in between, question:should I bother using green glue in in the walls that are concrete? Or would I be fine doing only the ceiling and the seams?

Small update, sheetrocking should be done today. The hanging should be done by Saturday, not in these pictures but there are 4 holes in the ceiling for the 4 ceiling speakers.

That's where the projector is going to be mounted, that area under the stairs is where my AV rack is going

We're finally painting, today will be the second coat and the next step will be carpet.

I need to look for a good 4k projector, I was looking at the Sony, but found out it doesnt have HDMI ports that have 18gbps so I was bummed since I like Sony. I also looked at the JVC E-Shift, but I dont know how I feel about fake 4k, any Ideas?

I too like the Sony... I've had a chance to see it in person and the picture is amazing... that said there are a couple of other options right now in the 4K market but I'm personally trying to hold out until the fall when the next generation comes out. I'm not too worried about the Sony lacking the 18gbps personally but I'd just like more options, I'd really like to see JVC introduce a true 4K panel.

Admittedly I think their E-Shift technology looks great and when pressed I'd likely be challenged to tell in a blind test between the JVC and similarly priced Sony's... I just have it in my head I want my 4K projector to actually have 4K panels.

So I'm basically no use to you I'm holding out for another 6-8 months.

Yeah I'm kind of on the same boat, I don't want to invest on a projector, to only regret it later.

Yeah! I was worried when the guy at Home Depot put the sample on top of the can because it looked pink, but it turned out well

Your theater is coming along great.

I would choose JVC over Sony. I was in the same boat when I went shopping for my projector.

The problem I had with the Sony was the motion. It was very slow and soap opera like. I did view it in a perfectly dark theater professionally built.

I eliminated it right away, then it was between Epson and JVC. No contest.

JVC have among the best black levels in the industry.

Talked to a rep at electronics show in October and there is a true 4K on the way.

Wow! That looks great! Looks like it's coming along nicely!! I just recently purchased the Sony VPL-VW385es 4K projector...and it's AMAZING!! Gorgeous picture...great blacks...very bright...and the HDR looks Phenomenal!! I saw that someone said something about the motion "soap opera effect"...and that is dead wrong!! Maybe the projector he saw had the "motionflow" enabled? Which I don't know why someone would do that! Lol! Anyway...I took a quick video of the projector in action...I'll post the link in case your interested to view it! ANd good luck finishing up you room!!

Wow beautiful theater room, thanks for the video that picture looks amazing.

I was looking at the VPLVW285ES which i think is the model below that one. $8k right now is a bit out of my range. I'm looking at ~$5k right now.

I'm getting ready to carpet the room, and I was looking at carpet tiling instead of conventional carpets.

Anybody have had experience or used carpet tiles? Is it recommended?

Thank You

I had to google carpet tiles.

I would just keep it simple but of course, this is your vision.
