They've said before that sales through Amazon helps them as it raises their profile. Or words to that effect.

Your getting three movies on two BDs for 20.99. You want it cheaper?

I'm not messing around waiting for HMV. I may miss out on the O ring.

I highly doubt all 2000 will sell out before release date, so the slipcover should stick around for a while. I'm at least going to see how much HMV list it for before I pre-order direct with Eureka, but I reckon it'll only be £19.99 or thereabouts (so a quid cheaper). And sometimes with LE releases and box sets they're actually a quid or two more.

EDIT: yup, it's £19.99 from Base.com, but I'm still going with either HMV or Eureka as I'm more likely to receive it in mint condition (and on time).

Thanks, that base.com price is fantastic for international customers (they remove VAT like Amazon but single item shipping is cheaper). 18.35 GBP shipped is a steal!

20.99 from Eureka might be the best alternative. Amazon’s VAT removal will be offset by the shipping.

HMV have the 'Early Hou Hsiao-hsien' set for £29.99!

Surely this'll drop to at least £20 nearer release date.

Yeah that's the RRP. Will probably drop to £19.99 in the next month or two.

Cure and Marty have been added to the 2 for £25 already, for those that are interested. Gonna pre-order Cure with something else, but haven't decided what yet...

HMV Ireland have it for €27.99 (24.86 GBP).

Incidentally, it will NEVER drop to €20 on HMV Ireland. Ah, good old HMV, never ever change.

Thinking of doing the same.

If I pre-order Cure and Barefoot Contessa will they send one separate from the other or have to send both at the same time as they will be part of the offer which means they will charge the full price for each item separately ?

Just curious.

They'll send separately if they're released on different dates. Once a part of an order has shipped you can no longer cancel the order through the website - hence you'll get charged £12.50 when one is dispatched, and another £12.50 when the other one ships.

Thanks. Hopefully that's the way they'll do it then. Going to try that now.

Just a (very) advance notice, that next year, on 13th June, the Royal Festival Hall in London will be screening Metropolis, with Gottfried Huppertz's original, Wagner- and Strauss-derived score played live not by the usual barely-rehearsed pick-up band sight-reading for their lives, but by the resident and world-ranking Philharmonia Orchestra under their principal conductor, Esa-Pekka Salonen. Booking opened last week, and if the comparable recent screenings of Napoléon and the original Ben Hur are anything to go by, this should prove to be an unmissable event.

Does this mean another re-release by Eureka?

I've actually only ever had one HMV 2 for £25 order ship both titles in one delivery, all my other orders have just ended up with one title either out of stock or a pre-order and so one title was shipped independently of the other, so yeah you should be alright.

I don't normally order pre-orders on such offers unless they are released at the same time. So I haven't ordered in that fashion before that I remember.

I combined Legend of the Montain and Michael preorders and they shipped the latter (it arrived today) so it's safe enough to do it seems.
