Thanks Steve for your help

I think the deal price is almost matching to what is being offered here https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/s...ay-metal-box#/ , given the fact that it also has UHD BD.

No specs for some releases on the shameless site. It doesn't look like they do english subs either unless there is a non-english audio track. That's a...shame.
I stay away from getting stuff that isn't subtitled.

Unless you're desperate to see a particular title, I think it's worth checking out comparisons on caps-a-holic before pulling the trigger. A lot of their titles have far superior presentations else. Unfortunately a lot of them are expensive German releases. Some of which look pretty good.

Picked up this. I skipped through the BU Blu and noticed the night scenes looked awful. Hope this is somewhat better.

The BU blu-ray looks quite beautiful for the most part, but there is HORRIBLE compression artifacts. I believe when the first woman dies (the one in the car parked by the bridge or aquaduct), it is obvious that the image around the car is literally a static image. Later on, when characters in broad daylight are walking down a town street, there is a sign on the right-hand side where the image is sliding around.

My question is: is there a release of TORSO that has all new compression that deletes these laughable errors?

In the case of The Sect, I went with the German digipak, but to be honest, these exploitation movies I'm not that bothered with some quality loss and importing more expensive versions is too much of a hassle and too costly.

It's good to know we have a choice though.

Just got Torso - for completion purposes - I've been putting it off because it sounds pretty bad (not the film, I quite like it) but the transfer. I'll be keeping my BU edition as well.

But, Christ! That cover is bloody awful. I'm not a fan of reversing covers but I'll have to with this one.

On the plus side, they are still sending out numbered editions. Mine is 1988.

1947 for me. Almost Human's 2275/3000.

My first Shameless BDs. Neat that they have their own logo on the yellow cases. Shows how little big studios care, Disney used to have their own DVD cases and they were always nice to have.

And, yes, the cover is awful. They also 'missed' a nipple with the sticker with Almost Human!

Yeah, their cases are impressive. You should see some of their DVD covers. Nipples and lady gardens all over the place.

The cover though. Urgh... the guy they keep chained up writing their tag lines must have gotten some crayons for Christmas

I guess they ate them and vomited the cover out. I'm not a huge fan of over-stylized artwork (and that goes with other distributors as well), especially when you have Suzy Kendall in her nightie as an alternative ...

I'll wait until this gets a decent quality release that includes all three versions of the film. I guess that means holding out hopes of Arrow getting it at some point in the future.

Watched Torso last night, enjoyable enough, presented in a decent enough fashion. Some of the effects were a bit naff, but the scenery and cast made up for it.
