I finally got mine from DeepDiscount. No "Blu-ray Disc" across the top, and the barcode on the back is properly alligned, unlike the previous pictures.

Forgive the glare, it's still in the wrapper:

As a BD-R, is this potentially region-free?

Yes, all of them are BD-R purchased from anywhere.

Played fine on region A player.

Only DD5.1 audio, and only trailer as special features. Discs seems proper pressing though, not BD-R like the US one will be.

Are the BD menus english friendly or strictly Swedish?

Thumbs up

Really enjoyed this. The sound field is very active throughout. I loved how effectively the score set the tone.
I'm a sucker for super campy with a little bit of a mean streak.

High rewatch value for me...

Movies like this are usually something I obsess over, but I thought this was terrible. Not one character I found that I could relate to, care about, or even feel compelled to watch.

I agree. Didn't think it was terrible. Found it decent, I'd say but still very let down from what I was hoping for. This is so up my alley you have no idea. Everything about it screams "me" and for some reason, I just thought it was pretty poor, with a ton of wasted potential.

That was without question the entire point.

It seemed abundantly clear to me.

I thought both lead girls were absolutely fantastic in this. Their performances really drove the movie. Even though I couldn't relate to them in any way, they were still fascinating (and amusing) to watch. Sprinkle in some decent kills and gore, and I had good time with this. Hell, I wouldn't mind a sequel,
[Show spoiler]based on that ending

Well, sorry but it makes a movie a little bit more enjoyable to watch if there is someone you can connect with.

Not sure if I should get the BD-R or just settle for it on Vudu.

How is the commentary? Mostly technical or more plot-oriented?

Also with BD-Rs how would the PQ compare to digital releases?

Wrong genre.

If you're a fan of the film the commentary track is definitely worth a listen. It benefits immensely from having both the director and Chris Lee Hill there to keep things on track and provide substantive additional info. Very engaging and active. Not nuts & boltsy and never goes into the pitfall of merely describing what is happening on screen. A lot of easter eggs discovered.

I wouldn't say there's a noticeable difference in PQ between the two. The BD-R offers stabilization obviously depending on your internet connection. Also, depending on your hardware and Vudu app, you may get a Dolby Digital Plus track.

If you're a fan of the film, then the disc is down to $13 on Amazon. You get both DD 5.1 & 2.0 tracks in addition to an entertaining commentary track which clearly shows the filmmakers passion behind making Tragedy Girls. YMMV.

Watched this on stream and it was pretty fun. Kind of reminded me of Tucker and Dale vs Evil.
