Hoping for more 80s and 90s movies that I grew up on as a kid. There are a whole bunch that are tempting to upgrade the dvd to hdx on vudu. But I'd rather have them on disc since several that I've already transferred have since been released to blu.

I’d love for a Season 1 and 2 release of The Venture Bros. to be seen in widescreen with uncensored audio.
Nobody ever lends money to a man with a sense of humor.

Top 5 Wishlist (In no particular order): 1. Roman Holiday 2. A Place in the Sun 3. American Pop 4. Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song 5. Hard Eight

That's up to Turner, not WB. WB merely distributes for them, while Turner makes their own decisions on their releases.

Plus the first 2 seasons of The Venture Bros. were made in full screen to begin with.

Anyone hear anything about Show Boat (1936)? I was surprised to see it's not available at all anywhere, neither pressed DVD nor DVD-R (wasn't WA supposed to keep things available, hence MOD?). I was distracted back when it was released and never got around to getting it back in 2014 when they released it.

Anyone think that it may come to blu-ray?

After watching the new TCM III disc there has to be some hope that WAC is going to release Jason Goes to Hell uncut.

Any chance of the newer Cimarron, or even the first one, from WAC?

Hey All !!

I was just over at the Criterion thread, and here is some information that you may or may not know:

Criterion announcements usually happen in the middle of each month, just like with WAC.

Here is a list of all known Warner titles that have been released on Blu-ray by Criterion:

Short Cuts, Badlands, My Own Private Idaho, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Breaking Point, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, The Philadelphia Story, They Live By Night, Lost in America, Woman of the Year, Being There, Blow-Up, Mildred Pierce, Cat People, Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams, The Asphalt Jungle, Pan’s Labyrinth, Barry Lyndon, The New World, Barcelona, Day for Night, The Emigrants, The New Land, and The In-Laws.

True Stories is the only Warner title (so far) that has not YET been released on Blu-ray by Criterion but HAS been CONFIRMED for release.

After Hours, Mean Streets, Show Boat, Klute, A Face in the Crowd, The Magnificent Ambersons, O Lucky Man, Bringing Up Baby, Freaks, and Arsenic & Old Lace are the Warner titles (so far) that have been SERIOUSLY RUMOURED to get a release on Blu-ray by Criterion at some point in the future.

This information is not DEFINITIVE until CONFIRMED by the studios...But I thought I would share it with you, as I think it is important to be informed of the Criterion stuff that is (or might) be related to us here on the Warner Archive thread.

NOTE: Because of some grammatical and various other errors in my original post, I am re-posting the information above instead of simply editing it.

I have to think that Criterion is probably chasing Gymkata, as well.

Default The Heart is a Lonely Hunter ?

I would actually like to see Criterion release the 50th anniversary release of my favorite film "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" from 1968.

But then again, if WAC releases it, I'd be happy too.

We SHOULD be seeing some new WAC (and Criterion) announcements any day now !!

There are titles that I hope Criterion will release because they will put extra care with them like, say, Don't Look Now. The Criterion edition is the only one in 1.85:1 (as opposed to the atrociously DNR'd UK edition, which is 1.78:1) and still it shows more information than the old Paramount 1.78:1 dvd.
O Lucky Man! is my most coveted title from the 70's that has yet to make it onto blu-ray. I'd love a Criterion edition but if WAC decided to release it themselves I wouldn't moan for a second. The master used for the dvd is good enough (McDowell himself comments being impressed during the audio commentary) and it would be a wonderful opportunity to have the whole three-hour movie in one go instead of split over two discs on the dvd. The extras recycle the O Lucky Malcolm documentary as a filler and that of course needn't be included as it's available on both BD editions of A Clockwork Orange. That'd leave the movie, trailer, featurette and audio commentary on a BD50.

I don't know if this was posted here, but Warner Archive is planning to Blu Return of The Living Dead Part II soon (special thanks to buck135):

Worth bearing in mind that artist Graham Humphreys recently teased RotLD 2 art; it might be nothing (it's certainly not for an overseas release), but it could be for a Scream Factory release, given that he did the art for their CE of the first film. Given Shout's deal with Warner, it's now possible. Warner do not specifically state that the eventual release is coming from them in that message; moreover, plans may have changed, given that the deal with Shout was obviously struck fairly recently (I suspect, for example, that Scream would have rather liked Leatherface). I'm not saying it won't come from Warner Archive, but I suspect those who like extras would rather it come from Scream.
