I don't know i have seen all the films a million times over; i find 7 & 8 to be the worst. I don't dislike them at all, but they are the ones i re-watch the least because the stories aren't that great or interesting, the cast's (while they are never all that good) are as bad as they are in the series and in the end it it's obvious that Paramount around this time had ran out of ideas cause once 8 was done they sold the Jason rights to New Line.
You got a good reputation. But if I was you, I'd have located in the next county.

Blu Ray Wish List : Judgement Night, Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead, School Ties, Pump Up The Volume, The Abyss, A Thin Line Between Love & Hate, Dead Presidents, House Party, Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Chappelle Show, V (TV Series, 1980's) & any Hip Hop on Blu Ray.

Posting a gif of the only good scene in all of Jason X is not a good counterargument for why it's not the worst, unless you think some of the others have NO good scenes! I laughed my ass off at that sleeping bag scene, but hated every other minute of Jason X. That only gave it a reason to exist

They all kinda drop in quality after IV until you get to the remake, granted I haven't seen X or the one in space.
RIP Navster, you were someone I considered a friend and BD.com will always remember you.

Heh my mistake, considering this is my second favourite horror franchise behind only Scream, you'd think I would know that. Apparently I need to see Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X at some point, import seems like my best option.

I mostly agree, although VI is one third of the "Friday Trilogy of Awesome". Parts I, II & VI = Perfection.

What parts make up the "Friday Trilogy of Rotten", you ask? Parts VII, VIII, IX (even though I do think Kane is the best "zombie Jason"). That said, outside of part VIII -- which is unbearable -- they all make for a fun watch.

Wasn't FvJ pretty loaded already though? I can't imagine what SF would add to it.

Yeah, there's a bunch of stuff on that disc already.

I guess maybe you could get a retrospective with Ronny Yu, Englund or the two dudes that wrote it and the Friday remake? I doubt it'd be all that insightful, though.

I guess, if you're not counting the remake. Which makes sense, since it takes place in a completely different universe than the rest of the series.

I just checked on my Canadian edition of this set (not sure if it's the same as the American one) and there are French and Spanish audio and subtitles for each movie (the Spanish audio/subs say Espanol/Latino). All movies also play when my player is set to Region 2.

My set just arrived today.
I've only ever watched the first one before, so I have a lot of catching up to do..
I see #3 is in 3D, which could be for good or ill I suppose.

edit; dang, just read the fine print, it's anaglyph 3D and all I've got for that is a cheap paper set. Oh well, might track down a nice pair before I get to that one.

Skip the 3D, it doesn't look good, the non 3D version is included.

I think Part 6 is the worst of the Paramount 8. At least part 8 FEELS like a Friday movie. Part 6 started this META trend in horror and movies in general that I really dont like. It feels like the Disney version of Friday the 13th. Part 8 gets way more hate than it deserves. The fact they weren't actually able to film as much in New York as they wanted was a blessing in disguise. It made the ill advised gimmick actually work this time (unlike body hoppping and space). Did you really want to see Jason killing victims in Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building??? Come on, that would have been silly. Much better that they spent most of the time on a boat and even when they got to New York, only spent time on the docks and the back alleys and the sewers, and saved Time Square as a brief climax. It felt like an urban version of Crystal Lake, which is exactly the way it should have worked.
My thoughts exactly. I'll take 8 over 9, 10, 11 and 12. Actually, I prefer it to 6 and 7 also. 6 being a fan favorite has always rubbed me as surreal. It's an irritating joke, there aren't enough teens, too many underdeveloped one scene characters, and by far the worst Tommy.

I forgot about the remake! Oh man, that would definitely take the place of part VII. Making the trilogy of rotten Friday the 13th VIII, IX and REMAKE.

Thumbs down

The "trilogy of rotten Friday the 13th" is the beginning, middle, and end of Jason Goes to Hell.
