Default ideal atmos in ceiling speakers

so many designs, typical design with woofer and single tweeter in middle, RSL has a dual 4" with seperate tweeter, Monitor audio has a dual opposing tweeter design. Going .2 as all my receiver allows, what speaker type is ideal??

I was going to suggest KEF, but they don't seem to make in-ceiling.
Try to match materiel types with your surrounds. If your surround tweeters are titanium, go with that, of if they're polypropelene same thing. Timbre matching is the idea. Something like that.

I have Definitive Technology DT 6.5R right now and they have been good. However, I'm in the process of switching to the newer and bigger DI 8R to get a little more low end and cross them at 80hz.

You got a killer HT with nice gear. I don't want to tell you how to spend your money, you're doing a great job on that already.
Are you set on 6.5"? I have 6.5" and they're great. If I was to do it again though, I'd go 8".

I don't have the money to upgrade my receiver right now, so I can only do 2 Atmos speakers, but I do want to upgrade to Atmos now. At first I was going to go with the upward firing speakers, these ELAC A4 Debut Series https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But now I'm thinking I might as well just go with in ceiling speakers as I hear it is a better effect. I don't have too much money to spend, I think I've basically narrowed it down to these three options unless someone has a better suggestion.

Polk MC60 - https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Pe.../dp/B002JTG0PO
Polk RC80i - https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-RC...20B2482Q6&th=1
Polk 80 F/X - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LQDWO0...oding=UTF8&me=

What's the benefit of the 80 F/X that it's such a higher price than the other two? I'd be willing to spend that much if it would make a big difference...

Am I correct in thinking that any of these three is a better choice than the ELAC speakers?

Thanks in advance for the help... looking forward to upgrading my sound system.

I ended up going with Paradigm CI Pro P80-R.

I found the bass response was quite good and the clarity was the best I heard for my price range.

They look very good as well.

I almost went with the smaller version but for a minor $$$ more it was clearly the 8" that suited my needs long term.

I have a pair on order. Found gently used with original packaging for $79 shipped. After using the Onkyo upfiring for a few months now I really am not that impressed with them. I have open attic space so ceiling install is not that challenging I just didn't feel like it the first time around. Hoping these make a substantial difference for Atmos.

They sound great to me but again mine are in an enclosed ceiling with insulation so if your speakers sound hollow or bright and no book at all keep in mind it may be because ur placement of them is open they definitely sound better encosed so maybe get a box or a planter to put over them filled with some styrofoam or something having in wall or in ceiling speakers enclosed really makes a difference
