Canada history of violence, difference between canada / US Blu-rays?

I bought it off amazon US because a seller had a better price, well they sent me the alliance / canadian version. Does anyone know if the image quality is the same as US? better? worse? should I return it?

They are exactly the same. The only difference is the packaging. The American version uses the same cover art as the DVD whereas the Canadian version using the original poster with the gun in frame and Tom/Joey in the background. Personally I prefer the Canadian version for the cover.

lol did you buy it from InetVideo?? (they are known for doing this)

if so, and if you want to return it, you can go to their website on Monday (www.inetvideo.com), do the live chat feature and select amazon marketplace, and tell them you ordered the US release and they sent the wrong one so you'd like a refund. they will let you send it back for a full refund and pay return shipping as well

however, there are probably no PQ/AQ differences. the only thing that may be different are the special features.

yeah, they are notorious for mis-listing movies on amazon marketplace. they seem to not think there are any differences between the US and Canadian versions so they list them interchangeably. but they're very cool about letting you return it.

As stated before, the only difference between the US and Canadian versions is the cover art.

Austin Powers, Elf, and a few others are missing the Digital Copy feature. Note that these digital copies are Windows Media only Digital Copies and not compatible with iTunes and iPods.

I prefer the Canadian release, mainly because of the cover. The DVD/US Blu cover is hideous.

So, is the Canadian Blu-ray cut, like it's US counterpart? I would have thought that Canada would have gotten the International Cut with the extra blood. Does anyone know for sure?

I believe they are essentially the same product except Canadian movies have the Alliance logo on the back. Inet is capitalizing on the weak CADvs USD at the moment, thats why their movies are cheaper and have become a driving force, however they are incorrectly selling movies under US listings on Amazon and not disclosing that they are, which is very shady IMO.

Yeah in Canada we've always had the US cut version. At least you see the different shots in a comparison thanks to the extras. The discs are the same. The Canadian version will be OOP soon enough(Warner taking charge soon in Canada for New Line titles), so be glad you have the better cover!

If you ordered it direct from inetvideo, then you can't do a refund because it is the Canadian version, as they are a Canadian company, so that's what you are buying. But if they advertised it as the US version then that is another matter.
