There is ALOT of really good artist's out there.
Quick list. Anyone on QN5 music, All of the Rhymesayers, Sage Francis, Little Brother, Buck 65, Murs. Just to name a few. Their out there making some of the best hiphop keeping everything new and fresh.

Just to name a few, if it was not for the old school rappers hip hop would be dead today, i really do not know what to classify the newer gen stuff other then it sucks 99.9% of it!

It's out there you just have to look. But you are right must of the stuff you that is easily acessable today(on radio or tv)is very watered down.

Rap is a part of Hip Hop! Hip Hop is a culture! Rap is part of that culture! Just like a poster above mentioned, along with rap, there is Beatboxing, Breakdancing, Graffiti Art, DJing and a couple others! This is all Hip Hop Culture!
