Should I split my budget between speaker wire and a good power cable? Such as the Nordost Vishnu?

Joe,

You can also consider these Power Cords from Kevin in Taiwan; they are quite good and reasonably priced:

There should also be a more expensive power cord that will probably be available from Kevin shortly (I think that is just between listings).

Probably a good idea. Check out the reviews on www.nordost.com for what reviewers think of their wares.

I decided to go with a Nordost Vishnu cable and the Blue Heaven speaker wires. I was able to get the Vishnu for almost half price on Audiogon. I picked up the cables from a store that has the Vidar machine to break in the cables.

I might be placing my order for the VPI Classic turntable this weekend.

Well I just ordered the VPI Classic table, vpi tone arm cables, and the center weight. For the time being i am keeping my sumiko blue point # 2 cartridge and the Pro-ject phono box se II until i have the funds to upgrade.

Now the question becomes what is the weakest link the pre amp or the cartridge?

Joe

I surprisingly have been able to get more money than anticipated for selling my old equipment, so I am contemplating selling my REL T1 sub on audiogon and upgrading to either the REL Britannia B1 or the JL Audio Fathom 112. My local dealer will give me a great deal in the REL B1.

I would rather the sub sound better musically. My room dimensions are approx 19 foot ceilings, 15 feet deep and probably 25 feet wide. Because of my room set up, I do not have room for more than one sub. Any suggestions would be grateful.

Thanks Joe
