So far, a solid set. I really resisted watching this particular series because I don't want it to color my perception of the Saga. But, having a small boy now and having a hard time finding him something good to watch on TV(I swear, the cartoons of the 80's and mid-90's destroy anything that's out now), I finally gave in...

And, I'm kind of glad I did. Considering the level of artistry, this series is kind of remarkable that it even exists. I mean, this is high quality stuff for technically a kids program.

This and the first three seasons of Batman The Animated Series are what I'm going to be watching with my boy as he grows.

Anyone who was a child in the 80's like myself had it good when it came to cartoons.

60%? 40% for the HD picture? Even Lucas says 50%.

The difference between lossy and lossless isn't a huge gulf. I'd say it's more going from 1080i to 1080p. 1080p is technically better but a lot of people can't tell the difference, and in blind level matched tests people have trouble discerning 640kbps DD/1.5 Mbps DTS from the original uncompressed PCM masters.

The Clone Wars TV series isn't exactly a masterpiece of a television show, but the lossless audio definitely blew me away when watching the movie. I'm sure the tv show would have been equally as impressive.
You're not missing much, but it was mixed for HDTV in mind. There's an online article for Skywalker sound using a mixer to level out the soundmix. It is NOT mixed for a large theater like the movie was.

I'm very disappointed that lossless audio wasn't included. But it's NOT a dealbreaker, and I won't pretend the lossy audio somehow sucks in comparison.

Whoever said best buy sucks back there was right on. I did the online preorder, got the go-ahead and pick it up tuesday email, go there, waited around for 20 minutes while they farted around to ultimately tell me it wasn't there and it would be three weeks.
Sooooo trips to Target, FYE, and ultimately Wal-Mart, and I've got a copy. It's my first "digi-book" thing but the package is beautiful. I'm about to have a couple bud lights, roll a philly, and turn the stereo up; going to be a fun night!

Well Warner is the one who released it. You can chalk up another release that they went cheap on the audio. One difference between Star Wars release on Fox vs. Warners.

Warner is always cheap on the audio. It took them time to give us lossless audio on all movies after a long time with Dolby Digital on alot of titles.

As far as I know all TV shows on blu-ray from warner have had dolby digital 5.1 only and no lossless.

If it was another studio that did this product (e.g universal, paramount, sony, fox) we would of had lossless audio out the box first time.

Yesterday at my walmart I saw a case of season one dvd boxsets, no blu-ray, I took a risk asking an employee not saying it had come out early and they had said the blu-ray must have been sold out (a day early......) So I'll save up some cash for now I have GI JOE!

Oh Warner Bros..... You're like the uncle at Christmas parties that has muffled sound quality while everybody else is crystal clear.

Can't wait to get it!

Cad Bane was the ultimate bad ass.... but he's already disappointed me this early in season 2 lol. Still a very crafty villain though!

Kind of sounds like the storyline of A Christmas Vacation. The funny thing is that Warners released the new 20 year Collectors Edition Blu box set of that movie today with English Dolby Digital 2.0 and French and Spanish Dolby Digital Mono tracks. This is the same exact audio on the previous released movie from a few years ago. I ended up buying the movie today because I've been holding out in hopes of them remastering the audio. I love the movie and couldn't wait any longer.

They didn't offer to do that for me. But I don't mind. I already was getting a great deal.

Just kinda frustrating to have to wait for the damn thing.

The fault lies entirely with Warner's handling of television properties. The lack of a lossless audio mix at this stage is disgraceful and a dealbreaker for me. Sadly I liked the show much more in the first season than the awful movie that is already on Blu-ray.

I really really really would like to get the first season on Blu but want to make sure I like it first. So I'm gonna catch a lot of episodes on tv before I make a final decision. If anyone has already seen the first season can you post if it is a good tv show overall.

I've been debating getting this, but no stores near me even have it. 2 targets and best buy, zilch. Really annoying.

I'm not a big SW fan but I really REALLY loved Genndy Tartakovsky's 2005 animated Clone Wars series. So much so that I wanted to hate the new series because they did it without him. With that said, the new Clone Wars series is AMAZING! If you haven't seen it you are really missing out. You can tell a ton of love went into this series. The quality of this blu-ray it through the roof. You won't believe it's a weekly TV show.

Wow, I actually found a copy

As expected Best Buy didnt hold me a copy as they had none.

I went to Wal-Mart to pick up GI Joe, and even though I called a little earlier and had an employee tell me they had no copies, I went to the tiny Blu-Ray "section" near the TVs and to my surprise they actually had 2 copies of the set hiding behind a promotional flyer.

Same thing happened to me - went to BB and they gave me the DVD. I had to show them my email proving I ordered the Blu. After waiting like 20 minutes and the clerk trying to explain to me that it didn't come in and that when it does the promotion price might be over, I asked to speak to the Manager.

The guy doesn't even look at me - it's the whole not acknowledging me that was starting to get me pissed, as I wait for them to discuss behind the counter. Long story short, I let him have a piece of my mind - he probably thought I was a witch, oh well, what can you do? In the end, he wasn't so bad and agreed to give me a discount for $30 when I come back to pick it up. I asked him to sign the receipt. He did, I smiled, he smiled, end of story.

Can't wait to watch the show!!!

I did too, and it's a damn shame those shorts turned out better than Episode 3 itself. The animation can't compare to current CW series, but the narrative and character development was much more professionally handled in GT's vision.
