Watched: The Bone Collector.

Massive step up in quality from the DVD. The start with the thunder is impressive in the way it creates atmosphere. There are a few unusual looking shots (the daytime ones where it seems an early use of digital colour manipulation was used) but that was present on the DVD. Considering the film has so many dark scenes, it's a very nice transfer!

Have bought Star Trek, Transformers 1 and 2. Watched Star Trek the other night and was blown away with all aspects in quality. Looking forward to watching Transforms.

Watched: Pulp Fiction

Still one of my favourite movies of all time. Just a tad disapointed in the disc.

Sucks to hear that. I didn't race out and buy it for this very reason. I'll wait for a better release. I'm sure this one is better than the DVD, but from what I've read it doesn't warrant a re-buy for me. Shame too, as like you it definitely ranks up there for me.

Watched: Zodiac. Never get tired of this film.

Did you import zodiac and get the lossless audio? I'm thinking of importing it next time I get some blus from overseas.

Anyway, whilst the vq on pulp fiction isn't stunning, it does replicate what I saw when I have seen it in cinemas (and that has been somewhat rescently as well, so my memory is relativly fresh).

Yeah, it's one of only 2 US imports I have. Scored the AUS blu with my first player 2 years ago, but picked up the US release for the better audio. I keep it in the AUS case for a more uniform look to my collection.

Far too many of the early Warner releases have no lossless audio, so I steer clear of them.

Yup, when I watched it at the movies, I found it very hard to watch the action, it seemed a bit of a mess and didn't enjoy it much. When I watched it on Blu ray the other day, I found it much clearer and enjoyed it more.

Bought The Patriot and Beowulf on Saturday, and watched both on Sunday. I've always enjoyed Patriot, and while we didn't know what to expect with Beowulf, it ended up really rather good.

My delivery of Contact arrived today so I'll be checking it out tonight! Been a while since I've seen it as I never got the DVD even though I love the film. Looking forward to it.
