Using the switch on the back of the subs, I will be able (when wanted) to listen to the subs in 2 channel and switch back to LFE when I want to use the subs with the whole Home Theater system.

It will allow the main towers to play to lower frequencies. There is organ music, bass, drums, and other instruments that reach below 30 or even 20 hz. This is similar in idea to those big tower sets like the Nola Grand References which has a tower for the highs and mids and a tower for the woofers for both the L and R channels. This is also very similar to the original idea that Dahlquist had when they came up with the subwoofer and passive crossovers for their DQ-10 speakers about 30 years ago. Don't forget that Carl Marchisotto when with Dahlquist designed this option which he has now taken to use with his Nola speakers.

Realistically what instrument goes lower that 20Hz...That isnt electronic... I do Professional studio /Live sound for a living ... And tour with a MAJOR band .....Who 99% of the members have heard of ...And Im shure there are only 1 or 2 pipe organs that can possibily play to a FLAT 20Hz ... Just saying..

Most adults have experienced some hearing loss during their life, so many cannot even hear sounds as low as 20 Hz and as high as 20kHz. My wife told me that most adults have diminished hearing to around 40-50HZ to 12-15kHz by the age of 60. Also many teens are seeing a diminished hearing loss due to extended listening of their loud car stereos without the proper ear protection.

She is supposed to give me a hearing test to see where my current hearing levels are at 37.
